I'd Like to Thank...

I don't like standard beauty - there is no beauty without strangeness. ~Karl Lagerfeld

So, I was tickled by so many of your beauty queen suggestions, that I mentioned that I didn't know how to choose to Judy -- and SHE suggested I write a series in order to use them all. Here are just a few of the titles:

REAL titles from Tori and Allie:

Miss Drumsticks
Miss Klingon Empire
Ms. Mosquito Legs
The Armpit Queen
Miss Sap

And a few fictional suggestions...

From Sarita:

Miss Napa Nut

From Dru:

Miss Gold Rush
Miss Mountain Aire
Miss Redwood
Miss High-Tech Valley
Miss Overalls
Miss Cow Pasture
Miss One Road Buggy

Judy suggested Miss Pine Tar

And my mom got in the game with: Miss Watsonville Artichoke

Yep... I think I have some great ideas for a series now. *G* I'll let you know which title I choose. I haven't decided yet, so if you have more ideas, let me know -- you just might garner yourself a mention in my dedication!

=============================

I'm happy to say that it appears DH is putting off hardwooding the foyer until a later date. I'm not sure what he's going to be doing today, but the chim-chimney sweep comes this afternoon, so he doesn't want to be in the midst of a project. YAY!

DD is still sick, but being a trooper. At this house, we seldom take medication of any kind (thankfully, that's partly because we're quite healthy -- would you believe my DD has never had to be on antibiotics her entire life?) but we do try the natural or holistic remedy route. So DD has been taking anti-cold vitamins (vitamin C), minerals (zinc) and herbs (oregano oil and echinacea) twice a day. Without complaint. What a good girl. I think I'll keep her.

==============================

I nearly forgot to mention the LASR HALLOWEEN CELEBRATION SCAVENGER HUNT!

Up for grabs: 15 different paranormal books by authors like Lynn Viehl, Christine Feehan, L.A. Banks and more -- plus a pile of Halloween candy!

It's easy to play: Just look through the LASR website to find the answers to our questions each day, then email them to us and you're entered to win!

New questions posted each morning.

All the information is here.

Hope to see you there.

Another gratuitous picture -- because I already miss them:

Great suggestions! I love your mom's. I was thinking Miss Sequoia but I don't know if that's far enough north.

Sent another query out. And going to check out your LASR contest. :)

You mean there is no Miss Napa Nut? No? You sure?

*sigh*

Hope DD feels better soon. She sounds like such a great kid.

Love the photo. Thanks!

Happy Monday. :)

Okay now you have plenty of ideas, get ready to write.

By the way, I loved all the ideas you received. It would be hard for me to decide.
