Saturday Snow Melt

Flowers always make people better, happier, and more helpful; they are sunshine, food, and medicine to the soul. - Luther Burbank

First off... let me say that I wasn't around much yesterday. I only got to a couple of peoples blogs and I know I usually stop by and comment on many more. It's nothing personal.

Yesterday was tax day for me. Ugh. So, I was offline most of the day until about 3 p.m. and then, because of Friday Feast and the Blog Party, I had an incredibly full inbox I needed to go through. It was nuts.

But, that's done and I'm back and will hopefully be able to get to see everyone today.

I missed you!

==============================

Hey... I forgot: My interview with Much Cheaper Than Therapy includes a prize -- your choice of a free download of ANY of my stories. So, hie yourself over there and leave a comment to win. I'll be doing the drawing on Monday morning.

==============================

Have you entered the St. Patrick's Day contest at LASR yet? If not, WHY not? Sheesh... free books. Hello? Even if you're not into eBooks, you could win an Amazon GC and could always give away the eBook GC's on your own blog. How cool would that be? We'd love to see you there. C'mon ... it's painless and fun!

==============================

It's raining today. I have never been so happy to see rain in my entire life. The snow is melting!!! WOOT! We still have drifts of three or four feet, but much of the un-drifted stuff is almost GONE. I have small gardens right in front of my house and the snow there is gone, Gone, GONE. I have high hopes my daffodils will start popping up soon.

Wahhhhoooooo!

================================

I wrote yesterday... about 1000 words. I did it in the morning because I knew I'd be busy. I didn't write on Thursday, because I'd forgotten about the blog party and had to put that together, and then do some website promoting. I have hopes I'll be able to write today, but weekends are tough because DH is around and DD doesn't have seatwork to do in the afternoon.

Fingers crossed.

TODAY'S QUIZ: I am Dorfus Gizzardhead

Sometimes when you have a stressful day or week, you need some silliness
to break up the day. If we are honest, we have a lot more stressful days
than not.

Follow the instructions to find your new name.

The following is excerpted from a children's book, Captain Underpants
And the Perilous Plot Professor Poopypants, by Dave Pilkey, in which the
evil Professor forces everyone to assume new names...

So:

1. Use the third letter of your first name to determine your New first
name:

a = snickle
b = doombah
c = goober
d = cheesey
e = crusty
f = greasy
g = dumbo
h = farcus
i = dorky
j = doofus
k = funky
l = boo bie
m = sleezy
n = sloopy
o = fluffy
p = stinky
q = slimy
r = dorfus
s = snooty
t = tootsie
u = dipsy
v = sneezy
w = liver
x = skippy
y = dink y
z = zippy

2. Use the second letter of your last name to determine the first half
of your new last name:

a = dippin
b = feather
c = batty

f = barffy
g = lizard
h = waffle
i = farkle
j = monkey
k = flippin
l = fricken
m = bubble

o = potty
p = hamster
q = buckle
r = gizzard
s = lickin
t = snickle
u = chuckle
v = pickle
w = hubble
x = dingle
y = gorilla
z = girdle

3. Use the third letter of your last name to determine the second half
of your new last name:
a = butt
b = boob
c = face
d = nose
e = hump
f = breath
g = pants
h = shorts
i = lips
j = honker
k = head
l = tush
m = chunks
n = dunkin
o = brains
p = biscuits
