Monday Mumblings

Happy St. Patrick's Day -- May the luck of the Irish help you find your pot of gold.

He felt that his whole life was some kind of dream and he sometimes wondered whose it was and whether they were enjoying it. - Douglas Adams, "The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy"

I got another good review for "One Love For Liv"...Phew! Still, I'm not letting down my guard, because I'm certain someone is going to hate it, someday. LOL...

In any case, Cheyenne at Coffee Time Romance gave Liv four cups and said, in part:

I absolutely loved this story. I was so drawn into Liv’s life as she sought to find out more about Geoff while discovering what Mike had to offer. Liv is a refreshing character and I adored the way she learns how to break through barriers and discover life’s blessings that can be found if one just does a little investigating of their own....Marianne Arkins pens a fascinating page-turner. I found this read most satisfying and highly recommend it.

Look what Judy gave me:

Isn't it sweet?

I'll happily give it to Michele, Allie, Diane and Sarita... some of my most favorite blogging (and in Michele and Allie's case IRL) buddies.

==================

So... my dog dreams. A lot. Many times, day and night. And they're apparently pretty vivid because she whines and barks and growls and twitches and even wags her tail. She dreams every single time she sleeps, and they're loud and active. It's amazing.

Bailey had the occasional dream, but she didn't "talk" in her sleep so much, mostly just running/twitching, etc. Dakota's dreams are amazing. I wish I had a video camera... I'd tape them to show you.

I wonder if it's a sign of high IQ? I loved Bailey to death, but she wasn't the most intelligent of creatures. Dakota IS, and I think it's why we're having such trouble with her. In fact, I ran into a guy yesterday at PetsMart--who did the usual inquiry about her breed (this is, truly, the question I get 95% of the time), "Golden??" (with a really long question mark at the end... as is, "She looks like a golden retriever, but ... not.")

I said, "No. Golden/Irish setter."

The guy said, "Oh! I should have known. I had the same mix before." (pat, pat on Dakota's head). "Best dog I ever had, but was she STUBBORN."

**sigh**

I know I promised you a new contest today, and it is coming... it's just that, I had an idea, and then I changed my mind and need to write up a new description. It'll show up today, later, or tomorrow. Sorry!

Worked on my HTML lessons for a while yesterday. Got through Chapter Two. Learned a smidge about CSS as well, which is good. I'm still loving the presentation of this book--it's light and funny and they have you do exercises that are interesting (like a crossword puzzle with questions about the previous chapter as review).

Dru asked what I'm using as my editor for this endeavor--right now, nothing! I'm creating the pages in Notepad, because my intention is to literally be able to build webpages from the ground up. It's fun. Challenging, but fun. In my first exercise, I forgot a semi-colon in my CSS code and, of course, nothing worked! Yep, there will be some serious attention to detail required, but I like a challenge.

======================

DH was home and underfoot most of the day yesterday, so I didn't get any writing done. I will today. DD has school, so will also have seatwork. This should give me at least a little time to concentrate on my WIPs.

::fingers crossed::

Hi M, Our dog Cinny dreams sometimes but nothing as vivid as Dakota. We have a cat named Bailey, I love that name. Your Bailey had such a sweet face. I wish that I knew a quarter of what you know about computers! I'm off to take the music quiz. Have a great day.

Aw, what a cute award!

Apparently I have NO taste in music. I only listen to Contemporary Christian tunes and classical and jazz - and there were none listed.

I liked One Love For Liv. Except that it took place in a rocketing two week timespan, it was completely believable and very intriguing.

Okay, I admit it. I love music from the 80s. *g* I'm kind of surprised about the Old School Hip Hop, though. I wonder which artist got me that ranking?

As for my music:90's Alternative: Highest Influence
R&B: High Influence
90's Pop: Medium Influence
90's R&B: Medium Influence
Adult Alternative: Medium Influence
Okay, I agree with alot of that, except there were no classical musicians listed, nor any jazz. I listen to almost ALL types of music. *G*

Have a wonderful St. Patricks Day!

I'm so glad you're enjoying your HTML book. I've been looking for a good resource, and I think I'll try yours!

Did you get some writing done today?

Our dog dreams like that, too. Very expressive.

I hope you found writing time yesterday... and have more of the same to look forward to today.
