Big hugs. I know you don’t want to hear this right now, but mostly you won’t final in contests. Has nothing to do with your talent and persistence (uh, go check your previous post). It. Just. Is. I had completely “meh” scores in the GH this year. One 8 and the rest between 5 and 7. Nice.
It happens. Readers are different. Some writers can put aside biases and some can’t, even when they fool themselves and think they can. I’ve yet to hear someone proclaim how subjectively they score manuscripts in contests. LOL
So hang in there. Eat some chocolate. Get a little exercise in for the endorphins. And feel free to vent.
