Favorite Reads

There are books so alive that you're always afraid that while you weren't reading, the book has gone and changed, has shifted like a river; while you went on living, it went on living too, and like a river moved on and moved away. No one has stepped twice into the same river. But did anyone ever step twice into the same book? ~Marina Tsvetaeva

How was your Easter? Mine was good -- quiet, but good. I ate too much, of course. DD had malted milk balls and Reeces peanut butter eggs in her basket that she shared. My weaknesses... do you think the Easter Bunny knew that? *G*

I started re-reading "Watchers" by Dean Koontz last night. It's an old book -- original copyright is 1987 -- and there are lots of technical things that are outdated, but the story holds up. It's one of my favorite Koontz books, and I'm very much enjoying the read once again.

Aside from a few Koontz books, I also enjoy "The Stand" by Stephen King. And the Valdemar Series by Mercedes Lackey. The first book I read was "By the Sword" and it completely sucked me in.

What's your favorite book to read outside the romance genre?

============================

You Are a Lynx

You are a quiet observer of the world around you. Your wisdom comes from listening carefully.

You've always been extra sensitive and aware. And it's made it difficult for you to fit in.

You see past people's outward personas. You are able to penetrate a stranger's soul.

What you've learned about people is both beautiful and ugly. And you keep these secrets to yourself.

Some yes, some no....

Anything by Stephen King. I can't resist his work, and have read almost every book more than once.

Your Easter sounds like it was very nice and relaxing. Yay! :)

Hope you have a good Monday.

I love those candies, too. But I haven't had any. I'm trying to be good.

The Stand is my absolute fave book. I've read both the original one that was published as well as the re-released unabridged one.

Have a nice day!

To Kill A Mockingbird is my all-time favorite book. Wait, is Gone With The Wind considered a romance book?

You Are a Snow Leopard

You have learned that you must rely on yourself, and yourself alone, to live a happy life.

You are understand the world better than most people you know. You are very perceptive and intuitive.

You need lots of space to think. If you don't get the space you need, you're likely to bite someone's head off.

Because you are so thoughtful and solitary, people find you to be intense and mysterious. You're even seen as intimidating.

The solitary part is me.

One of my favorite non romance books, The Thread That Binds the Bones by Nina Kiriki Hoffman and Richard Bober. I wanted to like Stephen King and probably would have if I'd started to read his other works like The Stand, before reading The Blob and Pet Cemetery. *G*
I am a Cougar (HAHAHAHA!),You have more strength than most people, and with it, the ability to inflict a lot of harm.
Your power gives you confidence, and you find leading others to be easy.
You believe that you need to the best, and you are very driven to excel.
Most people immediately admire you, but some people feel very envious of your abilities.

Hmm, No. I have no condidence and don't want to lead anyone other than my children. But, I do strive to be the best I can and strive to excel, but not to be better than someone else. To be better for myself! And no one admires me or is envious of me.

I hope you enjoy those Easter treats, I"m jealous I was good and hate it. *G*
I hope you have a fantastic day!

Well, I don't know about the description, but the quiz makes me want to go for a walk in the woods.

The Watchers and The Stand are two of my absolute favorite books. Dean Koontz is my favorite author, tying with Nora, and I love how he throws in a touch of romance in his books. But never ever ever watch the movie The Watchers. Truly atrocious!

I really like Barbara Michaels aka Elizabeth Peters. She's not really a romance writer as much as a suspense writer.

Glad you had a good Easter. I only had 1 chocolate bunny. But it was a Lindt bunny, so it was awesome.
