You're Only As Old As You Feel

There is always a lot to be thankful for, if you take the time to look. For example, I'm sitting here thinking how nice it is that wrinkles don't hurt. ~Author Unknown

Because Judy is a wild woman... and has started another group for folks who love romance at Ning. Check it out here! And, yep, feel free to join in and play. The more, the merrier.

======================

I was reading an interview over at Mel's today and read that the author has been writing for twenty years. And I thought--WOW!! Twenty years.

And then I did the math.

I wrote my first novel (such as it was) when I was in fourth grade. I wrote my second and third novels (one of which I entered in the Avon Teen Novel Writing contest and managed to final) when I was a senior in high school. My twenty year high school reunion has come and gone.

Dear heavens.

I've been writing for (counts on fingers, and toes, and DD's fingers and toes, and the dogs toes....) more than thirty years. How old ARE you in fourth grade? I can't recall.

Every day something happens and reminds me that I'm older in reality than I am in my head. Anyone else have that problem. I mean, I know I'm forty. But I don't FEEL like I'm forty. It doesn't seem possible that I've been out of school for so many years. Inside, I'm still twenty. I look in the mirror and see lines and gray hair and I'm surprised!

**sigh**

What about you? Do you feel your age?

=========================

You Probably Look Your Age (At Least!)

You don't really respect your body, and that may catch up with you over time.
Relax a little and try to take care of yourself. If not, you'll have a lot of botox in your future.

Okay... so I have a little stress, and I don't get enough sleep. I don't smoke or party. Geez. Even Blogthings tells me I'm old.

I always received to contrasting ideas about age from my parents. My dad used to say 'you're as old as you feel' and my mom would say 'old age ain't for sissies!'

Thanks for making me do the math too. Even though I'm fifty, I didn't really start writing until I was married. My son was one. He's 19 now and getting married. Man, that twenty years went fast!

Thanks for visiting my blog, too, BTW.

Some days I feel a lot older than others. But I still have a hard time believing I'm as old as I am.

And I got the same thing as you on the quiz. And there is no way on God's green earth am I doing Botox. Ever.

I don't think I look my age but I am starting to get a few more gray hairs. Some days I definitely feel my age which is 58. So Marianne, forty is young yet. I'd love to be forty again. LOL

I took the quiz and it said that I probably look younger than my age. I'm surprised since I'm overweight and don't get enough sleep.

Cool you did so well in the Avon Teen writing competition!

Tori... I am SO with you on the botox thing. Holy cow... yes, please, inject some poison into my skin and PARALYZE ME.

((shakes head))

I never understood the whole Botox thing. That stuff is poison! Hello! Injecting poison into my face is not something I'd ever do.
As for the quiz, I appear younger than my age, and actually excpet for a few silver hairs, I do look younger than my age. So, I'll take it! *g* And there are days where I feel every year of my life and then others where I wonder where the time went and I am HOW OLD? *g*
So don't feel bad.

Have a good day! And congratulations for over 30 years of writing!

That is so kewl that you've been writing at least 30 years. I bet none of us can say that we've done something for that long.

You Probably Look Younger Than Your Age

You live a healthy lifestyle and know how to take care of yourself.
You'll probably have a youthful glow for many years.

Have to disagree with the healthy lifestyle, but people have told me that I don't look my age.

I'd rather not know whether I look older so I'm skipping this quiz.

Wow, congrats on your 30 years of writing! That's wonderful.
