Building an Ark

The best thing one can do when it's raining is to let it rain. - Henry Wadsworth Longfellow

It's still raining here... raining and raining and raining. You should SEE the dirty looks I get from the dog when I put her out to go potty! "You want me to go out THERE? It's wet and windy!" She goes, but it's clearly under duress.

I *think* today is the last day it's supposed to rain. I hope so. The "creek" out back is a raging river and water is beginning to seep into my basement in one area where the water is puddling (note to self: that needs fixing this summer).

DD made piles of jewelry this weekend -- about eight new bracelets and many pairs of earrings. I need to get them up on the DistinctivelyDD site ... hopefully today. She did a fabulous job, don't you think? Here's a sample:

====================

I bought a new coffee grinder this weekend. My old one had died, and I needed one to grind all the herbs I plan on growing and drying this year. And, I needed something to grind flaxseeds as well. And, probably coffee, too! *G*

Other than that excitement it was pretty quiet here over the weekend, which is good, I suppose. I do hope we can get out into some decent weather, soon, though. I miss walking.

What did you do this weekend? Anything exciting?

====================

You Are the Dragon

You are powerful and a bit intimidating. While you do have a bit of a temper, your bark is much more vicious than your bite.

In general, you tend to be fair and even noble. You treat everyone with respect, and you try to do right by people.

However, if someone crosses you, you can get downright nasty. Your emotions can get the better of you.

You don't literally breath fire when you're angry, but enough. It's best not to make you bad.

LOL... actually, this is rather close...

I especially like the beads in the last one. It looks like something one of my novels' character would wear.

It was very busy at my place. We had great weather and we were working on the chicken coop aka chicken mansion.

Ref: flaxseed
Why do you grind flaxseed? What do you use it for?

Oh the jewelry...It is beautiful!

Friday and Saturday were chock full of Spring cleaning. Sunday was argue-with-the-clock-worship-and-rest day.

You Are the Magic Wand
You are imaginative and idealistic. You believe that anything is possible, and you don't leave room for doubt.
You think that there is too much hopelessness in the world. People need more optimism and hope in their lives.

You know that change isn't as easy as the flick of a magic wand, but you also know that amazing things can happen if you let them.
You aren't sure if you believe in miracles, but you do believe in yourself. And that's almost as good.

My wv is "duckmall". Is there a children's story there?

LOL! I was going to ask, aren't you going to grind coffee? I didn't realize that you can use a coffee grinder to grind other items.

My weekend was spent indoors out of the rain/wind storm we had.

I'll be working on my next quilt projects which will be a photo memory quilt throw. Should be interesting the design I'm coming up with.

You Are the Fairy

You are charming, cheerful, and a little bit magical. You make other people's lives better.

You are a bit eccentric at times, but you truly care about people in your own way.

You are hyper and restless. It drives you crazy to sit still, and you are usually the first to leave any event.

You are unpredictable and flighty. No one can guess what you'll be up to next ... or where you'll be!

About 75% accurate

Have a great Monday.

It's been dreary here as well. I'll be glad to see some sun.

Love the jewelry. ;)

I personally believe Mother Nature has lost her mind. Ooh, I think the first bracelet is beautiful. If you're going to use a grinder for spices and coffee, two is recommended since spices grind finer and are harder to clean out.

I am the Magic Wand. Does that mean I get to say "alakazam!"? *G*

I hope you have a dry and pleasant day!

Your DD's jewelry is gorgeous!

My DH made the mistake of telling the dog it was too rainy for a walk. Dog heard only the WALK part and went nuts. Guess who got to take him walking.

SUCKER must be emblazoned on my forehead. I can't even bear to disappoint the dog. I figured it would be short but no, he didn't even seem to mind the rain this time - kept pulling me toward the park.

I sure hope the end of rain is near. I crave sunlight.
