Kitty Update

Just got Breeann home... she's pleased to be here. She's not so happy that she's locked up in the laundry room. The vet wants me to keep her well-contained for the next day or two to make sure she's not vomiting where I can't see her. The x-rays show no obstructions or obvious reason for her vomiting. OTOH, they DO show MASSIVE arthritis in her back, hips and back knees, poor baby. The vet says she's probably in a great deal of pain, even though she only limps a little bit. He says cats go into "stealth mode" when they hurt.

:-(

Anyway, we won't have the blood test results back for a day or two, and at this point have no idea what's made her sick, so I just have to watch her, make sure she eats, drinks & poops and hopefully that she does NOT throw up again.

:::fingers crossed:::

Aw, poor thing. I hope it all turns out okay and she can curl up in a nice warm spot in the sun soon.

I am thinking of you both. Poor baby, that arthritis must be really painful, and she didn't know how to tell you. Hugs from me.

Hope she's OK. 50Cent did that a few months ago... It turned out he'd swallowed a button, which didn't show up on xray because it wasn't radio-opaque and he was starting to pass it on his own (so no obstruction signs) by the time they xrayed him. Still needed IV's, though, and monitoring. Found it in his poop later. He doesn't eat what he's not supposed to, but he plays hard, and I imagine he was laying on his back and tossing it around until plunk, he accidentally swallowed his new toy.

Oh, gosh, I hope things work out OK. I have 2 kitties, one who just gave me a scare and decided not to eat for 4 days, so I know the awful feeling when something's wrong. Fingers crossed for you both~

Keeping my fingers crossed and saying prayers for you and Breeann.
(We went through this with Pepper when she was smaller, the Vet ended up giving her an antibiotic and she was keeping food down within two days.)

HUGS!!!

Oh Im so sorry to hear all this. I pray it's nothing serious.

Are they going to give anything to help with the arthritis? My dogs get nupro. I tried to give it to my cats but they weren't a big fan. I do know of several that will eat it.
