Movies and Puppies and Quizzes, OH MY!

Be not angry that you cannot make others as you wish them to be, since you cannot make yourself as you wish to be. — Thomas a Kempis

Sadly, sales for "Don't Fence Me In" aren't all that fantastic and it appears this will be the first of my stories to NOT hit the overall bestseller list at The Wild Rose Press (is it because folks don't like "sweet" or "vintage" stuff? I wonder. Wish I knew. Anyway--) ... so I got this bright idea to make a book trailer for it. I have Movie Maker, I have a brain, I have pictures, I can do this... right?

Dear heavens, what was I thinking?

I've worked on it for a couple hours a day the past few days and all I have to show for it is a headache. I imagine I'll get it eventually, but not before "Don't Fence Me In" is a distant memory. I suppose it will get easier the more I do, but the learning curve is crazy. It probably doesn't help that I have too much to do to be able to just focus on the trailer until it's done, and have to try to do it in bites instead of huge gulps. But, still... **sigh**

========================

I'm not feeling the love for Dakota this morning. She's currently upstairs in doggy jail... you see, I realize after sleeping in her crate all night she's full of energy, so I specifically take about 20 minutes first thing in the morning to play with her. This morning we wrestled, I tossed her toy for her for about ten minutes (Now THERE'S a game that never gets old...) and then I took her outside and let her run like a maniac. That should have at least stretched her legs a bit, and gotten the worst of the wiggles out.

Not.

She proceeded to tear all the cushions off the couch, then took the throw pillow and did her best to shred it (running away when I tried to catch her... what fun!), she tore leaves from my coffee tree, leaped up several times and grabbed the sleeve of my top and tore a hole in that and terrorized the cat.

When crate training a dog, you should never use the crate as punishment. I know this. But today it was crate her or strangle her. GAH.

And on that note, I give you your Daily Demon Spawn Dakota:

I KNOW she's cute, but the Bible says the anti-Christ will be attractive, too. Coincidence? I think not.

You Are Cereal

Playful and lighthearted, breakfast is likely your favorite meal of the day.
(In fact, you're probably the type who sneaks cereal as a midnight snack.)
Your culinary skills are probably a bit lacking... and you are a sucker for junk food.
Some people accuse you of eating like a kid, but you prefer to think of yourself as low maintenance.

I am Toast. Yes, that's appropriate.

Ah, such is life with a puppy. Sometimes I think it's better just to have a cat (though she plays with my toes in the middle of the night). Someday I'll have a dog. maybe I'll get an older one.

I haven't done my book trailer yet though my DH is ready to go. I just can't afford the pictures and music yet.

I'm sorry sales aren't better. I'll be buying it, I promise. I need a good cry.

Bummer about your sales. Is there other ways to promote the book? Can you go on other reader/review blogs?

Sorry Dakota is not cooperating.

I Am Eggs

Traditional and totally grown up, you truly believe that breakfast is the most important meal of the day.
You don't skimp on nutrition or quality. You're likely to take the time to make yourself a decent meal each morning.
You're a great cook, even if you aren't a showy one. You can make a feast out of simple ingredients.
The food you eat may be basic, but you prefer to think of it as classic.

I hope the rest of the day is a good one.

Aw, what a cute little demon though. Hope the day gets better for both of you.

As for your book, I doubt it's the sweet aspect. I'd think the time frame is what's making it a harder sell.

I'm wondering if your sales won't go up after folks get back to their regular routines. I think your release date might have been a hard sell. I wouldn't discount it yet. ;-)

*hugs* on the Dakota drama!!! This is why I couldn't have a puppy. I need a dog that's already trained.

You Are Danishes

Indulgent and a bit greedy, you eat whatever you feel like eating... nutrition be damned.
You have a total sweet tooth, and you pretty much give into it whenever you feel like it.
While treating yourself is nice occasionally, try eating a vegetable every once and a while.
Lay off the donuts and muffins, unless you want to be sporting a "muffin top" of your own!

Phbbt!!!!! *g*

Awww, Dakota looks so cute, but I am aware that cute does still disobey. *g* (7 cats who act like toddlers, trust me.) She'll calm down, eventually.
Sorry to hear sales were down for your story, maybe it was the holidays? People are often too busy to take time for other things.

As for the quiz, I am danish. I actually don't like danish, so I don't think so. *g*

Have a good day and best of luck with the book trailer.

Good luck on your trailer. Sorry about sales being down for your new story. I bet your sales will improve soon.

I'm cereal too!

Dakota did all that? That sweet, innocent faced cute little angel of a dog? I've been trying to convince hubby to keep a pet at home (a dog) and he keeps rejecting me. I think he's a wise guy. LOL.
