More Flowers :-)

If you've never been thrilled to the very edges of your soul by a flower in spring bloom, maybe your soul has never been in bloom. ~ Audra Foveo

Are you sick of my flower photos? I can't help it... I've taken more to share with you. It's been damp and dreary for days once again and I'm missing much of the wonderful flowers that bloom this time of year. The weeds are thrilled, however, since I can't really get out there and eradicate them. Very. Frustrating.

Anyway, it cleared up a little Sunday morning, so I hurried and took some pictures(ignore the date stamp... I forgot to reset it AGAIN -- some day in the far future, people are going to think I went hog wild taking photos in January of 2003).

My garden has two different kinds of columbine. A double one (I have this in four different colors):

And a single one (I have this in two colors):

I can't take credit for this next flowering plant. The woods surrounding our house are full of "rare pink lady slippers", a wild member of orchid family. These plants are apparently endangered and it's illegal to pick them - they are also the state flower of New Hampshire. We must have more than fifty or sixty plants out there:

My small irises (they're only about a foot high) are also blooming -- and they don't last long, so this rain is making me nuts:

I didn't get a chance to to the back garden -- this was all from the front. Maybe at the end of the week when the rain stops. Yeah. The end of the week. I back to building my ark... And now I need to go get my "real" post done. Hope you enjoyed the photos!

Such beautiful flowers! I've always heard of a columbine, but had never seen one. I wonder if they would grow down here? And the orchid is beautiful. You are truly blessed to live on such wonderful property!

These are gorgeous flowers -- thanks so much for posting these pictures! Did you know that the lavender/blue columbines were the state flower of Colorado?

I hope you get some extended sunshine... and more time to spend in your beautiful garden.
