I'm trying to name myself.
Okay, I'm trying to name my romance author alter-ego. You wouldn't think it would be this hard! I mean, how many times growing up have we wished our names were something else?
And now I can't think of anyone I'd rather be than me. I've spent most of my writing time this morning searching baby names sites. I know, I know, I should worry about my pseudonym AFTER I get the book done. Still, it's on my mind all the time, and is interfering with my writing.
So, help me out. First name, starting with an "M" and last name starting with an "A" or "B" -- to keep my books near the beginning of the pile. Anyone, anyone?
I'm kind of liking these first names:
Mariel
Marianne
Mariah
What do you think?
And if you could change your name to anything, what would you choose?

An M name. Hmmmmm, how about Marty or Marta. Meredith (Merri for short) is a favorite for me or Margarate (sp?). Then an "A" last name -- Agate (because it has something to do with gems -- of which you are one). That's the extent of my thoughts this morning.
Avoid Mariah. Too much baggage. I like Margarite, Mandy and Melody as common M names. If I wanted to be more creative I might go with word names: Magnet, Minuet, Murky, Modern, Moment. All pretty weird, but memorable. Or Monet (if you like his paintings). For a last name, I would go "normal" if you go for a "different" first name. I'd have one or the other be memorable. How about an anagram of Narkis? Arkins, Ansark, Askarn, Arskan...
(oops) - Ansirk, Askirn, Arskin...
