DD is sick. DH is sick.
DH is home on vacation until December (with one or two exceptions).
We just got our insurance open enrollment -- the costs have gone up, the coverage down and this little gem is included thanks to health care "reform": Children of employees will be eligible for medical, dental and vision benefits coverage up to their 26th birthday, regardless of their residency, their financial dependency on you, the availability of other coverage or their student, employment, tax dependency or marital status.
In the good news column: I'm still healthy ... at least so far.
How's YOUR Friday?

You Are a Skeleton |
You are totally goofy and entertaining. You are simply charming. You know how to have fun, and you're happy to be part of a group or crowd. You can be a bit dark in your thinking sometimes, though other people don't see it. You tend to develop strange obsessions and offbeat interests. You are delightfully quirky. |
That's me -- charming and delightfully quirky :-)
Speaking of skeletons -- at some point today, I'm hiding this one on my website for the LASR/WC Halloween Scavenger Hunt (prizes include a $50 Amazon or BN GC, and hundreds of books and other items -- deets will go up on the site tomorrow):
Isn't he CUTE?

Such a happy dancing skeleton. Made me smile.
Sorry everyone else is ill, but glad you are not.
I can't imagine doing NaNo with BHE home every day. He IS the best hubby ever, but...
I'll be praying for you!
*shudder*
Sorry your family is sick. Hope you have a ten foot pole to take care of them. :)
Sorry your family is sick. I hope it is over quickly.
re quiz: I'm a skeleton
Have a good Friday.
Sick AND home for a month? You have my sympathies. I hope your DD and DH get well soon!
The skeleton is cute.
Hope you have a good day and stay healthy!
am sick too u stay healthy okay?
I hope you can avoid catching the crud!
And that health care reform tidbit is insane!
As the parent of a recent college grad, that little "gem" gives me peace of mind. My premiums have gone way up and the amount of coverage down too, but it's not due to that inclusion. The insurance companies have been raising it ruthlessly for years. Trying to obtain individual healthcare plans is so ridiculously expensive that she'd have to go without if I couldn't still pay to include her in my plan.
Just my 2 cents from the other side of the coin.
Hope all are feeling better soon and that you stay healthy!
Mary, I'm not begruding coverage to college students. The insurance company I worked for covered students up to age 22 and that never affected the premiums.
Our health insurance coverage has remained the same over the past five years, and premiums have risen, but only a little. This year I'm paying significantly more for less coverage, and that dependent coverage up to age 26 (regardless of student status and even if they are MARRIED) is one of the things that affected the rates in a big way.
Take it from a former underwriter -- that was a huge change.
#8 about the Tom Cruise dream is hilarious! I think I need to check out the dream site you linked.
