Cre8Buzz

The most essential factor is persistence - the determination never to allow your energy or enthusiasm to be dampened by the discouragement that must inevitably come. - James Whitcomb Riley

Thanks to Jen, I found this great place -- it's kinda like Myspace for grownups: Cre8Buzz. It's been in beta mode and unavailable to the general public, but will be going live TODAY! I'm still stumbling around a bit, but am slowly finding my way around. You can only become a member by invitation (and I imagine I have the power to invite people, but I haven't figured that out yet! Still, if you're interested, let me know and I'll make the effort...LOL), but you can look around a bit and see what you think without being a member. The fiction community is warm and welcoming. Actually... EVERYONE is warm and welcoming. What a lovely place. Even better? It doesn't hurt my eyeballs to look at the profiles. For the most part, they don't flash, blink, or otherwise blind you. I suppose they could if you wanted, but I like it just the way it is.

You can see my profile here if you'd like:

I'm told there will also be lots of information and stories and such at the Cre8Buzz Blog as well.

So, go check it out!

============================

I didn't get the writing done I wanted to yesterday -- life at home was a little nuts. Today doesn't look much more promising -- DH advised me he invited his whole family over for a BBQ!! Yikes! As soon as I'm done here, I have to make tater salad (apparently, I am the queen of potato salad, and am required to make it for all gatherings).

Monday can't come soon enough.

Got this in my inbox:

The Regency Contest Begins!

Awe-Struck loves Regency Romance and is holding our 2nd Annual Contest to encourage Regency submissions and of course, publication of good Regencies.

There will be up to FIVE winners chosen from those who submit finished, proofread Regency manuscripts (include cover letter, synopsis, and put the manuscript in one Word file):

The winners receive a FREE print contract--no print fees charged or ordering requirements. This will be offered along with the usual full-service e-book contract and a release date for both print book and e-book in 2009. (2009 is NOT that far away.) This contest is open to all authors: even those currently holding contracts with Awe-Struck. We, however, cannot accept proposals. The book must be finished upon entering it in the contest. The contest will close on December 8, 2007.

It starts officially on October 8 (Monday). Files contracted before that date cannot be considered.

Regencies really really sell! It's a great genre in which to write, if you are the Regency type. Give it a try! You might surprise yourself! Join us for a great-selling genre: REGENCY ROMANCE

Note: We've reviewed a couple of books from them, and they seem to be quite good. Just saying...

But you want a man who's as magnetic as you are.
You need someone who can keep up with your all night gab fests!

Wahoo!

I'm a lace bra

Dreamy, romantic, and ultra-feminine
You're a womanly woman who makes guys feel like men
Your perfect guy is strong, determined, and handsome
With a softer side that only you can draw out

I'll have to check out that site when I have some time! Thanks for the heads up!
