Finally -- the website is working properly and you can access my story if you're so inclined!
I have a free short story over at The Long and the Short of It today. Yep, another Womans World reject.
Hope you like it better than they did!

Hey, WW's loss is everyone else's gain! I never could figure out why they took the stories they did and passed up on really good ones. They must have their favorite writers and stick with them. Bah.
I love your excerpt! I can't wait til Nov 19th now. :)
I'm still pushing to get DS done so I can do NaNo guilt free. But I'll probably do it anyway, regardless. I'm just chompin at the bit right now to start the agent search. And nervous.
I'm "Livin On A Prayer" That works for me.
Well, I gave up on getting a romantic story published by WW. I sent them several and they only seriously considered one. My friend had one published, but they rejected her last one. WW did accept a short true story of mine!
I'll read your story as soon as I get Amanda off on the bus - I'm sure I'll like it.
The story is wonderful! I loved it!
I like the story, Marianne. It's the first I read on LASR website and I'm going to read the rest! :)
Oh, I loved the story and I think I'm going to google my old pre-school buddy now. Not because I'm looking, but I just wonder whatever happened to him... what a sweet tale!
