After the Snow

The future is called "perhaps," which is the only possible thing to call the future. And the only important thing is not to allow that to scare you. ~Tennessee Williams, Orpheus Descending, 1957

That quote has nothing to do with my post... I just liked it :-)

It finally stopped snowing last evening... all told we got a LOT. LOL... I didn't actually measure, but I do know that it's higher than Dakota's tummy and she has to break a path to go potty. My best estimate is 15 - 18" ... with drifts twice that high. Crazy.

I'd have pictures, but it's still dark out. Sorry.

Since my daffodils were peeking out of the ground, I suspect they're going to look like they did last year -- little frost-burned greens with lovely flowers. My seedum was starting to sprout as well... the downside to having a light-colored house with full sun. The snow in front melts quickly and the ground warms before it should.

The good news is I did find time to write yesterday, and I did so. On Geoff's story. He's a little on the stuffy side and really needs to loosen up. I'm taking care of that, via my heroine. Geoff doesn't know what's hit him.

Speaking of Geoff (and Liv), Mary said very nice things about "One Love for Liv" on her blog yesterday. Thanks, Mary! I love warm fuzzies *G*.

It's funny... there are days I just don't WANT to write, but I do... and then I love it! Once the document is opened and the words start it's such a rush. It makes me wonder why I ever fought it. For JaNoWriMo this month, my goal is a measly 500 words a day. So far, I haven't done that even one day! But, I will write every day... and every word is one word more than I had. I really could use a couple extra hours. Anyone have some they'd like to share?

You Are CURVES AHEAD

When you're confronted with a problem, you take it on immediately - but with your eyes wide open.

You deal with stress well. You take things as they come, and you don't panic.

In fact, you often enjoy challenging situations. Difficulty makes you feel alive.

You are alert and observant. You notice every twist and turn in the road.

Okay...

You Are STOP

When you're confronted with a problem, you drop everything else you're doing at the time.
You need to take a moment and collect yourself before you proceed.

Once you've taken a quick break, you're ready to tackle almost anything that's come your way.
But if you're not given time to figure things out, then the likely result is chaos.

Maybe..

I've been very into writing lately and hate when I have to stop to get ready for work. I'm liking the flow of my short story and I'm trying to figure out what my next "big" project should be. But I'm loving it!

I live on a relatively busy street and thank goodness they have snow removal. All the snow that was piled high was taken away last night. We got about 14" or so. Blah.

Ugh. Just ugh on the snow.

Thankfully we only got a few inches. The cold here is horrible, though. The temp is hovering near zero which would be bad but then there's the wind. It brings the whole cold thing to a new level.

Spring. Just bring it on. Soon.

So glad you found time to write! Some days it tough to squash it in, but it's like exercise...never sorry to have done it. Hope you find time for writing again today! :)

I'm curves ahead just like you. Not too strange.

Glad the snow has stopped. I wish the heavy rain and wind would stop here. My dogs don't like to get wet.

I'm glad you're writing!
Sorry to hear about all the snow, ours is already starting to melt. It's making for black ice at night, but during the day it's fine.
I was Curves Ahead as well and NO, SO NOT ME. *G*

Good luck with the writing today.

You Are YIELD

When you're confronted with a problem, you slow down and assess exactly what is going on.

You don't want to act too quickly, but you will act when you know the coast is clear.

You believe that going too fast and going too slow can be equally damaging.

You aim to end up somewhere in the middle between recklessness and stagnation.
Yes, that could be me.
