Ice, Ice, Baby

Winter either bites with its teeth or lashes with its tail. ~Proverb

How's THAT blog title for an earworm? Wait... am I showing my age again? It's kind of funny -- we have a few folks on JaNoWriMo who've made up playlists for their novels and it's all new, funky, fun, contemporary music that I've never heard. I'm so far out of the mainstream, it's not even funny. Maybe I'll preorder the "coming soon" NCIS Soundtrack. Ha.

Speaking of NCIS, I have serious amounts of envy about the writing on that show. Not so much the actual crime plot, but the interactions between the characters. Seriously amazing. As I watched this week's show, I wished I could be a fly on the wall during some brainstorming sessions with the writers. And, do you suppose they sit around thinking up "McNames" they can have Tony call McGee? Donald Bellisario is a master. Think of some of the shows he's done: JAG, Quantum Leap, Magnum P.I., Airwolf, Battlestar Galactica ... I really think his strength is in his cast of characters. Though the storylines are interesting enough, they wouldn't be strong enough to keep folks watching through 152 episodes (Magnum P.I.).

Ah, I am a fangirl.

Now, I need to work on that kind of cast for my own books. I strive for that. Perhaps, with practice, I will become a master?

Thanks for the congratulations on my new appliances. Dru asked for pictures. I'll get you some soon. They need a bit of makeup first. Ha.

Oh, and re: the title of this blog before I got completely off track with my love note to Donald B., it iced all day yesterday. Little, hard pellets that were HEAVY suckers. I shoveled the driveway once in the late morning, and then again when it finally stopped around 3 p.m. -- the second time, I thought I was going to die. Oy.

And, does anyone else think that the snowplow drivers wait at the end of your road until you're done shoveling your driveway and THEN they come by? Huh? Because five minutes after I finished and came inside, one drove past and piled a ginormous mountain of ice in the front of my drive. And I just didn't have the energy to tackle it -- something I am sure to regret today when I go out and find a solid pile of frozen slush.

At least we didn't lose power. :-)

Your Word is "Think"

You see life as an amazing mix of possibilities, ideas, and fascinations.

And sometimes you feel like you don't have enough time to take it all in.

You love learning. Whether you're in school or not, you're probably immersed in several subjects right now.

When you're not learning, you're busy reflecting. You think a lot about the people you know and the things you've experienced.

Okay.

So I'm guessing the playlist thing would be songs that go with the story, songs that, if the book became a movie, would be on the soundtrack?

Hmmm...

Yeah, yucky icy mess out there. I got home and shoveled and shoveled so DH could get out of the driveway, cleaned his car off only to find he had the day off. Argh.

Mother Nature is not being kind to you guys up North.

Your Word is "Love"

You see life as possibility to form deep connections with a few people.

Relationships are the center of your world, and you always take time to bond with those you love.

You are caring and giving. You enjoy helping those you love.

And when it comes to romantic love, you feel passionately ... even in a very long term relationship.

Interesting.

Have a good Thursday.

Ma Nature is being a royal b*tch. Somebody needs to drug her.

I love love love NCIS. It's just a pity Donald B. can't write romance to save his life. *g*

NCIS was great Tuesday - also liked it at the end when McGee finally got tough with the car mechanic. Tony always has great lines too.

Your Word is "Fearless"

Oh, hahahahahaha!

You see life as your one chance to experience everything, and you just go for it! You believe the biggest risk is being afraid and missing out on something amazing.

Sometimes your fearlessness means you're daring. You enjoy risky activities. And sometimes your fearlessness means you're courageous. You're brave enough to do the right thing, even when it's scary.

Um, about half. Maybe.

RE: NCIS...I watch for Duckie and Abby and McGee. Tony and Ziva bug me. Especially Tony. He was better when he was with Jean, but otherwise...no.

Sorry about the ice. Yuck.

I don't like heights, so I can't be totally fearless!
