Hi all! Today's BTT is a twist on the meme I've seen running around the Blogosphere.
1. Pick up the nearest book. (I’m sure you must have one nearby.)
2. Turn to page 123.
3. What is the first sentence on the page?
4. The last sentence on the page?
5. Now . . . connect them together….
(And no, you may not transcribe the entire page of the book–that’s cheating!)
Okay, I'm reading "The Horseman's Son for the LASR Book-a-Day Giveaway.
First sentence: "I'll bet you're going to remind me that kissing you is a mistake," he said.
Last sentence: The heat rifled through his body.
Well, now... we appear to have interrupted some smooching and this connection is easy-peasy:
"I'll bet you're going to remind me that kissing you is a mistake," he said.
She lifted a hand and stroked his jaw, fingertips feathering down his neck before coming to rest on his chest. "Why would I do that?"
The heat rifled through his body.
========================
Yep... another sign of spring! I have my first blister *G*
We had some decent weather here, yesterday! Finally... so, of course I had to go do yardwork. Our lawn is flat from being crushed by snow. It's so flat that the dog slides a few feet when she runs and then tries to stop, as if she's running on ice. So DD and I raked. And raked. And raked.
It doesn't even look like I made a dent, but I have the blister to prove it.
I also started cleaning out the gardens that edge the woods because I know I have daffodils in there. They're piled high with dead leaves, so I raked in there, too. I got quite of few of the leaves out, but it's not just flat in there...I have bushes, too, so the rake (and the leaves) kept getting hung up. I wasn't wearing gloves, but I went ahead and scooped leaves out with my hands. Yuck.
Is it weird that I can handle bugs, worms, frogs... even snakes and not get grossed out, but those slimy leaves nearly put me over the edge? Blech...
In any case, I think I found most of the daffodil plants. I can't wait until we have flowers again.
Only thing was, doing all that yard work alone, including the garden that used to be my mom's, really made me miss her.
**sigh**
Miss you, Mom.

Wow! Hot haha Now, I want to read that book Ü
I wish we had spring here in the Philippines. It's just rain or... heat. Mostly heat since it's summer here :p
Happy BTT!
Um, yes, it's a little weird that bugs don't bother you but slimy leaves do. Guess it's a texture thing?
Thanks for visiting my blog! I definitely recommend the book, I'm enjoying it very much! The start was a little hard to get into but I'm pleased I gave it a little longer to get going!
Hooray for sunshine & gardening! And I'm totally with you on the slimy leaves things. Although bugs -- especially potato bugs -- and snakes make me feel a little queasy, too. Of course, I'm the kind of gardener who loves gardens but prefers for other people to do anything that seems like work.
That book sounds mighty interesting.
Hope you are enjoying another day of springtime!
Hi, I see what you mean - I interpreted the question quite differently!
I like your interpretation - waht happens next?
That gardening sounds like hard work and I have to wear gloves to do any gardening, except pick flowers.
I'm right behind you on the slimy leaves thing. Ugh! And they make my allergies go nuts, all that mold and slime.
Love it that you uncovered your daffodils, though. :)
Interesting BTT answer :) It occurred to me that maybe we were meant to fill in the story ourselves but I wasn't game enough to try lol.
I'm "blue": You give your love and friendship unconditionally. You enjoy long, thoughtful conversations rich in philosophy and spirituality. You are very loyal and intuitive.
Oh yeah, philisophical. That's me. NOT!
Your book sounds pretty steamy!
I understand about your feelings about your mom. My mom's b-day would have been yesterday and she loved working in the garden. She had vegetable and flower gardens before she became ill.
And I started reading "One Love for Liv" and I am enjoying it so much. Mike is a hottie and sweet - great combination. I can't wait to see how he handles the truth about Liv. Thank you for writing this book!
I can imagine your yard in my head, with all the snow for months! It's a good thing you like to work in the garden. This time of year I think about my Mom more too, with her b-day and Mothers day coming up.
It's gorgeous here today too. I should be outside.
I don't do bugs, worms, or snakes. Yuck!

LOL! Yeah, right.
I can't handle bugs or the like.

Good luck with the gardening! How is the writing?
I don't garden. I have containers for plants and regular grass and bushes for yard. *g* But, ugh! Slimy leaves are nasty, been there. YUCK!
And I am green as well, but to be honest, I think it kinda fits me.
Have a great day!
I was heading down the same track (of creating my own words to link the lines), but then did a quick check of early responses and figured I was wrong.
So glad you went this way, as your link is sensational!
Wow... very steamy. Nice connection between your two lines. I am still trying to figure out a way to write mine.
Hot, I must say!
:D
