Tuesday Tidbits

Some folks might sa-ay that I'm no good
That I wouldn't settle down if I could
But when that open ro-oad starts to callin' me
There's somethin' o'er the hill that I gotta see
Sometimes it's har-rd but you gotta understand
When the Lord made me, He made a Ra-amblin' Man. -- Hank Williams

I'm kind of all over the place today, but that's my brain this morning. It's a scary place to visit, but living here is even more ... interesting.

Hey, it's snowing out. In case you wondered.

DD starts art lessons again today. Last night, she ran up to me, hugged me so tight I couldn't breathe and said, "I'm SO glad I have art lessons tomorrow!" and then ran off again.

I think she enjoys them.

DH went in to swim in the jury pool again yesterday. This time though he got hooked and landed. He starts as a juror on a civil case next week. Oh. Joy.

At least it wasn't a capital murder crime. We have one going on currently -- four guys broke into a house and killed a mother and almost killed her daughter -- the weapons were a machete and a knife and the mother curled up around her daughter. Saved her life. Broke my heart.

My mom's computer died (a virus again -- I hate hackers), so she's been calling me every day and I check her emails. She gets upwards of 40+ spam emails daily. Amazing. It made me wonder: do people REALLY think they've won $50,000,000 pounds in the British lottery? Do they actually BUY drugs online from people they don't know? As an aside, my DH says those folks who peddle cheap V1aGrah don't care if you buy their stuff, they're looking to get onto your computer.

If people would stop falling for the idiocy of spam mails, maybe they'd stop.

As for Mom's computer -- she's sending it here to me, so my DH can fix it and we'll send it back. While it's going to take longer, it's WAY cheaper than taking it to the Geek Squad (heaven forbid) and I know it'll be fixed correctly.

I wish she was out here. *sigh*

I suppose I've rambled enough. Time to wander on somewhere else.... have a great day!

You Are Sensitive

You are very intuitive and insightful. You understand what's going on around you without needing to be told.

You are naturally nurturing and caring. You look out for people, even if they don't ask you to.

You tend to stay attached to those you love. It's hard for you to let go when you need to.

You are in touch with your emotions. You know exactly what you're feeling and why you're feeling it.

Um... I'm not really sensitive, but some of the rest fits. And I LOVE me a Boston Creme donut. Oh. Yum.

Living in the big city, I know stuff like that happens, but rarely do I hear of this type of murder elsewhere. Just makes me sad that some don't have any humanity.

This may be one of the worst winters yet in recent times. We're getting snow tomorrow.

How do you know if your computer has been hacked?

You Are Dependable

You are consistent, responsible, and careful. You always make sure to do the right thing.

You don't need much attention or recognition in your life. You're happy with who you are, and that's enough.

You may seem plain on the outside, but you can be quite fearless. You adapt well, and you're very flexible.

You are dedicated and strong willed. You stand up for what's right.

Absolutely correct.

Have a good Tuesday.

Dru, the murder I mentioned took place in a tiny little town -- so it's all the more shocking.

RE: computer being hacked -- lots of places will install spyware and malware without you knowing it. Aside from my virus protection software, I also use Malwarebytes (the free version). You can find it here: http://www.malwarebytes.org/.

Run a full scan the first time you use it. You might be surprised what you find...

I've always wanted to serve on a jury, but no matter how many times I get hauled in, I'm never picked.

Greg says it's because I have the look of a hanging juror. LOL.

Ref: spam mail. I hate it. I get a lot of “Hi, I’m writing this with tears in my eyes, my life is so horrible, please send me money” e-mails. Does anyone actually fall for that? If so, please send ME money, lol.

Ref: Jury. I would love to serve on a murder jury but I wouldn’t be able to put the person behind bars unless he actually admitted to the crime.

Ref: Picture of the sweet treat. I want one, I want one, I really, really want one. You just made me very hungry.

Sounds like DD will be an artist for a very long time!
Spam is getting out of hand. Even with our email servers filters we get many every week.

My quiz results were the same as Dru's. And now I want a doughnut. *sigh* But, I'll be good. Even though Krispy Kreme makes the best doughnuts in the world. *g*

Hope you have a good day and survive the new snow!

I'm pretty sure nobody would want me on their jury. Not with the way my mind wanders. :)

LOL! My verification word is "saidso"

Hubby was on a jury when we lived in San Francisco. He found it very interesting!

It's nice you guys can fix your mom's computer!

Have a great day!

I wish I was there too. I am at the library today using their computers.
