Search Me!

I find that a great part of the information I have was acquired by looking up something and finding something else on the way. ~Franklin P. Adams

The other day, Maria Zannini was discussing what search words and phrases brought folks to her blog.

I haven't checked my keyword searches in a while, so I wondered if they were the same. In the past, the top search was for my Mole vs. Vole post -- a post a did back during The Great Vole Wars.

It appears that the voles are running neck-and-neck with requests on how to load a PDF onto your Nook (It's easy, BTW: just plug the Nook into your computer and copy the file over ... when you plug in the Nook, it becomes another drive on your computer. Badda bing, badda boom). Though, as I continue on down the line, it looks like the Nook wins! I had no idea there were so many variations of "how do I load a PDF onto my Nook".

But I have a few single hits that amused me:

Rancho Cordova "mills jr high" band -- I actually did attend Mills Jr. High for a year. It was a HUGE come down for me. I'd started high school (9th grade) in a rural town, and then we MOVED about a month in. Rancho Cordova's junior high was 7th, 8th, 9th ... so suddenly I was out of an open campus, high school and back into a rigid, closed campus junior high. I was not happy. But I survived. However, I was NOT in band. Sorry. Drama yes, band no.

Is Ruth Ann Schabacker a real person? - I had no idea what this referred to, so I had to search my own blog. I found out that I'd posted a quote from her here. I still can't find out who she was, or if she was real.

Locks of Love -- we get several hits from this (color me surprised that my posts are far up enough on search engines to get hit). Mostly they go to this post, entitled "Locks of Love", our first foray into donating hair.

I guess it goes to show you never know what's going to be the thing folks are looking for. What posts get the highest hits on your blog?

=====================

Today DH and DD were supposed to go up to the National Forest and cut down a Christmas tree. Sadly, DH caught a cold on Thursday and isn't feeling very well. He's still in bed now, and we'll see how he feels today (he got a LOT of rest yesterday, which was great), but I'm not holding out much hope. We may end up at the Christmas tree lot...

Do you have your tree up yet?

=======================

You Are Open

You are an accepting and adaptable person. You let yourself go with the flow.

You are interested in the world ideas. You're much more concerned with how the world could be than with how it is.

You are idealistic and philosophical. You're always thinking of ways to improve the lives of others.

Social justice and equality is very important to you. Even if you aren't political, you have causes close to your heart.

Hmmmm... sort of, but some is off.

I hope DH feels better soon.

I've been looking for one of those small bookshelf trees, but haven't had any luck.

You Are Enthusiastic

You truly love life, and you always find a lot to be excited about. Every day is a new beginning.

You are outgoing and charismatic. You have a strong impact on those around you - and you sometimes change lives.

You are very creative, and you like to share your creations with the world. You love it when others appreciate your uniqueness.

You are flexible and spontaneous. You consider all possibilities. You don't like it when restrictions are placed on you.

Except for the outgoing part, it's pretty accurate.

Have a good Saturday.

This sort of fits.

You Are Intuitive
You are a very balanced and steady person. You don't get swept away by emotions.
You have measured responses to life's chaos. Your feelings play an important role in your life.

You believe it's important to help others, and you don't mind if your contributions go unrecognized.
You don't need to be appreciated to feel good. You already are proud of who you are!

No tree yet. I'm the kind of person who likes to wait until about 2 weeks before Christmas to put up the tree. And I'm also a paranoid person and am afraid of a real tree going up in flames, so we do a fake. I may get it set up today though. Maybe. If I'm in the mood later.

I'll be traveling a lot around the holidays, so no tree for me this year. :(

I love to decorate.

We don't have our tree up yet. Mainly because our old tree is so big nobody wanted to mess with it. :)

I hope your DH feels better soon! There's almost nothing worse than a sick hubby. *g*
My response to the quiz was the same as your Mom's, Intuitive. And it's not a bad answer. *g*

We don't have our tree up yet. My parents never put up our tree until after the first week of December and I sort of do the same. We wait until two weeks before Christmas because we buy a real tree and that limits the pine needles AND the cats chewing on the tree.

I hope your day went well and that you have a peaceful Sunday!
