Things That Make Me Go ... HUH?

It is only the constant exertion and working of our sensitive, intellectual, moral, and physical machinery that keep us from rusting, and so becoming useless. ~Charles Simmons

Some things puzzle me. Okay, a lot of things actually...

Like, why do people use herbicide instead of pulling weeds? I mean, I watch these people hauling their jug-o-poison around in one hand, the squirter in the the other, painstakingly looking for a weed. Then they bend and spray. Repeat.

My confusion is two-fold.

1. Why does your rock garden or lawn look better with DEAD weeds in it than live ones? Really. Or are you planning on pulling the weeds after you kill them?

2. It would take an equal amount of labor to bend and PULL the weed as it would to bend and spray it. It's cheaper, too. Have you SEEN how much a jug of Round-Up costs? And it often takes more than one.

Also, when I read articles like "Weed killer kills human cells" I can't help but think, at what cost using anything with -cide at the end. Worse, these are all places I walk. DD walks. Dakota walks. It gets into the water system. Into the dirt. The air.

But really what boggles my mind is simply this: it's just as easy to weed. I really don't get it.

What things do you observe that make YOU go ... huh??

You Are a Kitten

You are playful and sweet, but you also treasure your alone time.

You're pretty independent, and you resent anyone trying to tell you what to do.

You don't get bored easily. You are quite good at entertaining yourself.

Deep down, you are quite sensitive and intuitive. You are less standoffish than you seem.

Yep.

One thing that recently had me going "huh?" was the other evening when we had all the excitement in our neighborhood. Why would all these cars who could OBVIOUSLY tell the road was blocked off, drive all the way up there anyway????
