Stuff and More Stuff

I think dogs are the most amazing creatures; they give unconditional love. For me they are the role model for being alive. ~Gilda Radner

I went to agility last night and gabbed with the instructor about Dakota's itchies ... she suggested two things: a moisturizing spray (in case it's just dry skin) and benadryl (in case it's an allergic reaction). Since I had Benadryl at home (but not the spray) I started her on that last night. So far, she seems better though she was tired last night and was only up long enough this morning to potty and eat. We'll see how she does during the day.

I still think it's that new shampoo :-(

We bought new treats for agility yesterday: Eagle Pack Holistic Salmon dog treats. Oh my word... if you're looking for something to REALLY get your dogs attention, these will do it. They smell VERY strongly of fish and the dogs last night went crazy for them.

Here is DD with Dakota and good friend Maxie:

Think they wanted treats?

DD found another friend yesterday, too. He had a leg stuck in our electrical/cable box thing where we know there is a wasps' nest inside, so my bee-phobic DD was very brave.

I know I've said it before, but I love stick bugs.

In Pillar Place: Monarch, our last two pupae are dark -- one will hatch today for certain, and one will probably wait until tomorrow. Then .... that's it for the year. Another signal that summer's over... *sigh*

Hope you all had an awesome day!

You Are Almond Bubble Tea

You are an ideas person, and you are always thinking of new ways to change the world.

Your taste is somewhat unconventional, although you don't like anything too far out.

You have a reputation for being quirky, and at times, you make sure to fuel it.

You're definitely adverse to following the crowd. You want to do things your way!

Hmmm... fairly close to right!

I'll have to look for those treats for Sandy. She's such a love bug. I was not happy yesterday though. DH found a flea on her. I have no idea where it could have come from. We're flea free here and the only other dog/house she goes to is flea free. Could she have picked it up during a walk?

Great looking stick bug!

Stick bugs ROCK! We had huge ones in Missouri. They live in Maine, but are smaller and quite a challenge to find.

It might be the shampoo. When I react to something, the reaction keeps rolling for 2+ weeks after I identify and remove the allergen. So glad there won't be any allergies in heaven! (for people OR dogs!)

Good morning! Love the stick bug picture. Fenway loves Salmon so I imagine those treats will be a huge hit. Maxie looks a lot like Fenway, do you know what breed she is?

Thanks for stopping by my blog on the Hunger Games trilogy. Be sure to check back because a couple of people answered you about your DD reading.

Ceri, ugh ... fleas. And she can absolutely get them on her walks, though it's not typical.

Groovy, I heartily agree with you on all counts! *G*

Mary, Maxie is a pound puppy, so we're guessing at her breed. My guess? Either really solid purebred chocolate lab, or possibly lab/pit bull mix. She's BIG, bigger than most purebred labs I've seen and really really solid with a head that actually reminds me more of a rottie. Dunno. Whatever she is, she's cute :-)

Thanks, Marianne. I'm always trying to get a read on Fenway's breed.

Fenway was a rescue from Tennessee so we're not sure. The shelter said lab/hound mix but I don't see very much lab - just the thickness in the upper body. He seems to be topping out at @65lbs too. He looks like pix we've seen of some Redbone Coon Hounds, but there's obviously something else in there. He sure howls like a coon hound.

Do you know of any good kitty treats? I have a few allergic to the commercially made ones.

The doggies look so cute cuddling up to your DD for treats!

You Are Coffee Bubble Tea
You are a delightful contradiction. You're always trying to have the best of both worlds!
You defy convention and expectations. You do things your way just because you can.
You are energetic and unapologetically enthusiastic. You always have something to be hyper about.
You go nonstop until you crash. You're pretty good at wearing yourself out.

That last half? Oh yeah, that's me! *G*

Hope you have a great day and that Dakota feels better soon!

Brandy, for my cat I use "Happy Hips" which is just chicken with glucosomine. You can get a free sample at their website: http://www.catswell.com/happy_hips/chicken_breast_jerky
