This and That

What do you suppose?
A bee sat on my nose.
Then what do you think?
He gave me a wink
And said, "I beg your pardon,
I thought you were the garden."
~English Rhyme

Feeling better today. I think I was just flat out exhausted yesterday. Thankfully, no more dizziness today.. that's the worst!

Things at Pillar Place: Swallowtail are still quiet, but that should change very soon.

In Pillar Place: Monarch -- Xi is eating like a pig, and Rho and Pi both hatched yesterday. They're nearly microscopic and difficult to see. When they first hatch, they're opaque in color and blend (a good move for their safety, but makes it hard for me!).

I found some great videos about the hatching and their growth. If you're interested, they're here embedding is disabled):

Monarch Egg Hatching (0:43)

Monarch Caterpillar's growth (2:20)

Monarch turns into a chrysalis (1:23)

Monarch transformation into a butterfly (0:52)

====================

Was serenaded yesterday evening by the sounds of fireworks (the people had a particular fondness for bombs that were loud enough to shake my house) and dirt bikes. It was such a joy.

I imagine tonight will be even more noisy.

Your Style is Natural

You prefer things that aren't overly fussy or ornate. For you, simple is best.

If possible, you like a more natural look - or at least a look that was inspired by nature.

You are turned off by wild colors and too much flair. You don't think style needs to be complicated.

You know that less is often more. You strive to live a simpler life than most.

That's about right.

I got Natural too.

Glad you are feeling better.
Where we are staying, there must be homes or something behind the motel because there were rockets going off too. Unexpected.

Happy 4th to you!

I'm glad you're feeling better.

Your Style is Traditional

You have a strong preference for classic things. You want items that will look good forever.

You don't fall for trends. You know what you like, and little is going to change that.

You have an eye for quality. You'd like to hold on to your things for a long time.

You pick out each item you own carefully and deliberately. You aren't an impulse shopper.

True

Have a good Saturday.

This is very me.

Your Style is Romantic
You have a subtle style that is slightly vintage and old fashioned.
It's hard for you to get used to modern design. You prefer things the way they used to be.

You believe each object has a story, and you buy things that spark your imagination.
A lot of what you own has sentimental value. You couldn't imagine throwing it away.

So glad to hear you're feeling better! The changes in weather are hard on everyone, I think.

I got Romantic but most of the choices I would have made weren't even options so I don't think it's too accurate.

Just got back from the green market with loads of peaches and a basil plant I can keep in my kitchen.

Glad you are feeling better. Make sure you don't overdo it this weekend!!!

My family was serenading everyone with fireworks last night. I swear the men around here think it's Christmas. My hubby who doesn't want to spend any $$$ thinks nothing of daily visits to Bomber Bros. Firework stand! Or course, here in WA you can buy the big fireworks like they shoot off in shows.

I'm glad you're feeling better today. We usually set off Fireworks, but our town also has a sound ordinance (end times) that we strictly follow and we don't set off too many loud ones. Of course our whole neighborhood sets off Fireworks on the Fourth.

Your Style is Eclectic
For you, anything goes style wise. You are very good at fusing influences together.
You draw inspiration from many sources, and you don't have any strict rules when it comes to what you love.
While your preferences can be a bit off the wall, everything always works well together. You have good taste.
You are open to the world and enjoy sampling as much as you can. You are truly international and cosmopolitan.

While some of our things are eclectic, most are rather traditional. So not too sure about this one.

Hope you rest and have a good day!

Hope your neighbors aren't TOO obnoxious tonight. But given what you've told us about them, I doubt that'll happen. :( Ours will likely be noisy and annoying tonight too. But our cops are good about showing up when we call them if things get out of hand.
