Fun With Kid's Videos

Good children's literature appeals not only to the child in the adult, but to the adult in the child. ~ Anonymous

I'm having a lazy morning... it's been nice. But now I have to wake up DH, so have little time to chat with you!

Yesterday was tough -- I was very achy in all my joints and my eyeballs felt bruised. It was the strangest thing. So far this a.m., I'm feeling a bit better (especially my eyeballs, which bothered me worst yesterday).

I finally got the rest of my tax documents yesterday (I have one place who can legally wait until the end of February to send me something ... which really annoys me), so I can finally get organized and see how much I hate the federal government this year. A nice, simple flat tax would be so much easier... I really hate figuring taxes.

DD and I have been listening to Schoolhouse Rock lately. She had to memorize the preamble in school and she just giggled. "I already know it!".

And when it comes to diagramming sentences, these types of songs really help:

It's a shame they don't this anymore. It's such a fun way to learn stuff. The closest I've found in modern kid's stuff was on "Between the Lions".

Today's blog brought to by the letter B and the number 20.

===============================

You Are the Alarm Clock

You don't have much of an opinion on mornings. No matter whether you like them or hate them, you have to get up.

Your mornings tend to be a bit of a rushed affair. You have to be out the door by a certain time, and you have to hustle.

You are not a big fan of wasting time, and the morning is no exception. You have a lot to get done, and it's time to get cracking.

It's fair to say that you're on autopilot during the wee hours of the day. You have mornings down to a science.

Nope... not at all, except the not being a fan of wasting time part.

I loved Schoolhouse Rock. One of my favorites are "I'm Just A Bill" and "Conjunction Function."

You Are the Sun

You always wake up with a smile on your face. Even if you're tired, you're happy that you lived to see another day.

You feel especially perky when the sun is already up and shining. You are definitely solar powered.

You are optimistic and forward looking. Mornings may be tough sometimes, but you hardly even notice.

Just like the sun, you get up every day with little fuss or effort. There's work to be done, and you're ready to do it.

Yep, that's me.

Have a good Saturday.

Love the School House Rock videos. I have a song called Fraction Rock that I use with my class when we study equivalent fractions. They think it's fun.

I tried the Morning survey. That thing is WACKED! It said I'm a morning person and highly energetic. Um, I guess it missed the part where I didn't select energetic. ;)

It's right that I live on Coffee though.

Hope you stay feeling better today.

I barely remember the schoolhouse rock videos. I'll have to share these with my kids! *G*
The morning survey didn't have a button for those of us that drink a caffeinated beverage that isn't tea or coffee. *G*

I hope you're having a fabulous Saturday!

Conjunction Junction is my favorite too. It was brilliant to have these on Saturday mornings when kids were watching their cartoons.

I love School House Rock! It makes grammar so much fun. I've posted a couple of School House Rock videos on my grammar website that is devoted to sentence diagramming.

So, if you want a little more help with sentence diagramming, check out all of the information on my website.

:) Have a happy day,
Elizabeth O'Brien
