Yay for Monday!

All change is not growth, as all movement is not forward. ~Ellen Glasgow

Sorry for the cryptic blog yesterday -- I have friends and family members who worry if I don't post daily, so I needed to post something! It wasn't a tragic day or anything, just completely unplanned and chaotic (two things I don't deal with well -- I'm totally into schedules and routines).

It began with the entire house waking up early, so I didn't get my usual hour or two to slowly awaken, enjoy the peace and quiet and a cup of coffee, but was thrust into instant activity. But... that was okay: DH was going boating and DD wanted to go (despite still being a bit snuffly). He'd switched days for helping his dad from Sunday to Saturday because of the weather.

So, we started getting things ready: packing the beach bags, making lunch, getting the boat out... and then DH said, "It's awfully overcast." and checked the weather. Rain expected by the afternoon.

So, okay, boating is out. The DD got a nosebleed and DH spent the a.m. cranky cuz no boating for the weekend (and he wasn't happy with the weather folks who had predicted a yucky day Saturday--which turned out gorgeous--and a gorgeous day Sunday--which turned out yucky). Finally DH decided to go up to his uncle's place (that he caretakes) and mow and study for another certification test, and didn't want to take DD, which was okay, because the nosebleeds didn't want to stop coming and now she was afraid to blow her snuffly nose and was a mess.

He finally left, DD stayed home (miserable) and the weather was overcast (a general call out for the bugs to be out) and the dog was antsy. I didn't go to the Romance in the Backseat interview (darn it) -- Terry had thoughtfully told me DD could come along, but I just didn't feel right dragging her around when she felt gross and it was just as well, since the nosebleeds were frequent and messy (causing a change of clothes no less than three times).

BUT!

It's Monday. Routine returns (sort of... DD is done with school, so we'll have to work around that), the sun is shining, and -- except for the fact the deer ate not just my hosta, but the tops of my snapdragons and liatris... yes, the tops... yanno, the part that BLOOMS -- all is well with my world.

How was your weekend?

You Are A Spaceship

You're so weird that you're practically out of this world.

You are a total dreamer. You are obsessed with conquering the impossible.

You are wild and adventurous. You love thrills of all sorts.

You are a true sensation seeker. You are always looking for that next high.

Okay... a weird dreamer? Sure. But the rest? Wild? Adventurous? Thrill seeker? Um... not so much.

I hate the nosebleeds. I used to get them all the time when I was a kid and now my son gets them all the time. Messy indeed. too bad about the Romance In The Backseat. I would've like to have done it, but every weekend for me is booked.

Sorry about all the nosebleeds. My one daughter gets them.

I hate that when you listen to the weather forecast and make plans, then it's wrong.

We had a good weekend - saw "17 Again" and Amanda enjoyed her Baccalaureate Mass and reception afterwards.

I woke up with a nosebleed yesterday. Very unusual. I am really sorry you missed the interview. I know you would have loved going.

This pretty much gets me right.

Sucks about the nosebleeds. I hope she's feeling better today!

You Are A Car

You're the type of person who likes to do things your way. You're a little stubborn.
You're very expressive and a true individual. You don't like to compromise.

You are a very private person. You value your alone time.
While you may seem self centered to some, you are actually very cooperative when you need to be.

That's pretty eerily accurate.

Sorry to hear the weather ruined your plans. I hope your Daughter feels better today and that the nose bleeds have departed. My daughter used to get them all the time when she was younger and they've slowed down now.

You Are Walking:You are a calm, peaceful person. You truly enjoy life.
You are very down to earth and grounded. You are not easily upset.
More than other people, you are able to really stop and smell the roses.
You take things at your own speed. You realize that life is a journey, not a race.

I like it. It fits in some regards. Although, I do stress out easily. *G*

I hope today is a glorious return to routine for you!

My weekend was rather insane... and I'm still dealing with the aftermath. Here I am checking in at 10:51, and you know, I'm an early riser like you, so I'm not a happy camper right now. I did have a lovely time with my writing students on Sunday night, though.
