Some Photos For Your Viewing Pleasure

The photograph itself doesn't interest me. I want only to capture a minute part of reality. ~Henri Cartier Bresson

First off... if you didn't read Laurel Bradley's guest post from yesterday, please do! I didn't get it posted until late and would really appreciate it if you'd give her some feedback! Sorry again, Laurel!

Not much today... bear with me. Life is crazy. Would you believe DD fell on her bike yesterday?? Scraped her knee, the back of the other knee and her elbow as well as bumps and bruises. This on top of her fall from the slide. And THEN when we came in, she fell up the stairs.

**sigh**

So, for now, I'll leave you with this -- some pictures.

Okay, here's the little garden I built for Bailey. The greenest bush is the dogwood we bought for her. Eventually, this will be really gorgeous, but everything is still so small yet.

I'm still shocked at how quickly the red lily beetles came out this year! Here is one clump of very small lilies they've all but decimated! In fact, if you notice, there is one (now DEAD... ha!) lily beetle ON this plant.

Here is what they should look like (though, again, if you notice there is a --NOW DEAD, ha!-- lily beetle on this plant, too).

We pick them EVERY day all summer. The larvae are nasty little buggers who cover themselves with their own poop to keep the predators at bay. But, HA, doesn't phase me.

DD got artsy, too, and took some pictures of her dragonsblood seedum:

And here is DD tickling Dakota's one white paw:

Here is one of Dakota's favorite past times -- knocking the couch cushions off... she pretends it's because she's lost a toy, but I know better!

You Would Be a Pet Dog

You're friendly, loyal, and an all around good sport. People love to be near you.

You are very open with your feelings, and you're quite vocal in expressing them.

You are sincere and kind. You love many people - without any sort of agenda.

Why you would make a great pet: You're content to chill out with your friends

Why you would make a bad pet: You always find yourself getting into trouble

What you would love about being a dog: Running around and playing

What you would hate about being a dog: Being left home alone while everyone else is out having fun

I'm a fish. Yeah. Don't they have an memory of about 5 seconds?

I can't believe the nasty bugs are already on the attack. I'm sorry that your plants are under siege.

You're dog cracks me up! She must be a hoot to watch!

Hey.... didn't I already say that?

oh no, poor DD. I hope today is a better day for her.

Dakota is so comical. You just have to laugh at her antics.

How did you do in doggy school?

Spring, green plants, flowers, don't you just love it, well except for the allergy part.

Great pictures, thanks for sharing.

I would be a pet bird.

Have a good Thursday.

Oh, ouch, I hope DD is feeling better today. After that slide episode, I would have been bed-ridden for a week -- isn't it amazing how quickly kids recover?

I'm a cat. Meow.

I'm a pet bird as well :::waving a wing at Dru:::
You're intelligent and witty, yet surprisingly low maintenance.
You charm people easily, and they usually love you a lot more than you love them.
You resent anyone who tries to own or control you. You refuse to be fenced in.

Why you would make a great pet: You're very smart and entertaining

Why you would make a bad pet: You're not interested in being anyone's pet!

What you would love about being a bird: Flying, obviously

What you would hate about being a bird: Being caged

And.. I have to tell you, when I read this line: What you would hate about being a dog: Being left home alone while everyone else is out having fun I LOL'd....you would LOVE that!!!!!

Marianne, I hope your DD is feeling better. She sounds like one of my daughters. Everything just seems to happen to her. She's been hospitalized for strep throat, broken her ankle, had stitches a couple of times. She goes to a birthday party and comes home with a broken nose. She goes to visit Grandma and ends up in the hosptital having her appendix out. And she's only 14! I hope your daughter has better luck!

Your poor little DD, I hope this doesn't become a pattern and she doesn't get hurt anymore. My sister is so clumsy, she hurts herself on the craziest things on the craziest parts of her body. Sometimes I look at her in wonder, it is amazing the things that happens to her and the stuff around her she mangles in process.

Cute pics of Dakota. Our Pom has one white paw too.

Your garden for Bailey looks really nice, I hope the bugs don't mess with it.

I would be a Pet Bird.

Sounds as though DD had "one of those days". Sorry to hear she fell. I hope she's feeling better now.

I'm a pet bird. Hmmmmm.

Ewww, on the beetles. I hope they didn't destroy all your lilies.

Have a wonderful day!

It sounds like DD might have a little concussion.

DD's photograph is bee-you-ti-muss. Love the droplets.

Bleah on the bugs. Not a big fan of the nature.

Sorry it's been one of those days. Here's hoping it gets better.
