Friday's Feast

A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort. ~Herm Albright, quoted in Reader's Digest, June 1995

That quote doesn't refer to anything in the post...I just liked it :-)

Appetizer

What was your favorite cartoon when you were a child?

You know, I didn't watch cartoons much when I was little. I did watch Sesame Street, Electric Company, Captain Kangaroo... and I DO remember Schoolhouse Rock. What a great thing that was to use in lieu of commercials, hmmm? I actually use Schoolhouse Rock with my DD teaching her now! She knew the Preamble before we were "supposed" to memorize it. Yesterday, I was teaching her how to identify an adverb and said: "Lolly, lolly, lolly...get your adverbs here" and we went through the entire song.

So, I suppose I'd have to say Schoolhouse Rock was my fave (though, in high school, I was a total freak about Battle of the Planets).

Just for fun, my favorite Schoolhouse Rock video:

Although this is a close second (this is another song we sing in school regularly):

Soup

Pretend you are about to get a new pet. Which animal would you pick, and what would you name it?

I'd probably get a rat (well...two, because they're social animals). My last rats were named for characters in book whose name escapes me right now, but it was the cat version of "Watership Down" (I have the book in my room, but DH is snoozing, and probably wouldn't appreciate me waking him up): Pouncequick and Roofshadow. I'd probably do something along the same lines.

And, yes. I said rats. Seriously, folks, despite their ugly ole tales and bad reputation, rats are absolutely the best pocket pet there is. I've had mice, rats, hamsters... I've known gerbils. Rats are smart, affectionate, clean. I've never been bitten by a rat. My rat, Shadow, was allowed loose in my house--with THREE cats who never bothered him--he came when I called, used a litter box. I'd love to have one again, but DH can't stand the thought of it.

Still... someday....

Salad

On a scale of 1-10 with 10 being highest, how much do you enjoy getting all dressed up for a special occasion?

I used to enjoy it A LOT, but now? It just seems like too much trouble, LOL, so I'd have to say: 3.

Main Course

What kind of music do you listen to while you drive?

Nearly anything. I have oldies, country, pop, 80s pop, classic rock, kids music, movie soundtracks... I listen to whatever I feel like listening to. Probably the only thing you won't find in my CD player is rap and hard rock.

Dessert

When was the last time you bought a clock? And in which room did you put it?

Geez... I have no idea. Um... hmmm... I did buy a clock for DH (it has deer antlers on it) about three years ago, and it's in our TV room (because it matches the lamps with deer antlers). Maybe that one?

====================================

No chatting today, folks... long night last night and I'm tired, this is already late and I'm behind. DH couldn't sleep, I couldn't sleep, Ugh. That's why the meme is here.

Chat tomorrow. Kay?

Your Mind is PG-13 Rated

Your mind is definitely a little dirty. You're naughty, but not trashy.

You don't shy away from a dirty joke, and you're clearly not a prude.

Okay... see... some of these questions, I didn't know how to answer. Like, the song lyrics one. Isn't "London Bridges" a kids song? LOL.

I watched Cartoons like Scooby-Doo and Rocky and Bullwinkle and barely remember Schoolhouse Rock.

Um, my mind is rated G according to the Quiz. *G*
"Your mind is cleaner than a nun's. You're totally pure.
In fact, you often don't catch on to how dirty the world really is." Hmmmm.

Have a great day and get some rest!

I used to love Kimba the White lion. I never wanted to miss it!

I also loved Schoolhouse Rock. I can still sing most of them. I bought the kids the videos when they were babies because I had such wonderful memories of them.

I'm stealing this one. I am experiencing a severe brain drain right, so a meme really fits the bill.

I love schoolhouse rock. Sigh. And I want to fall in love with an aardvark, then he would be mine.
