Dogs' lives are too short. Their only fault, really. ~ Agnes Sligh Turnbull
My dog woke up this morning and wouldn't put weight on her front, right foot. After giving it some thought, and noticing how the swelling increased as the day progressed, I took her to my vet -- the best vet in the whole world.
He took x-rays.
Then the vet tech came in and offered to stay with my daughter while I talked to the doctor... never a good sign.
I was told that my dog, the light of my life and my first baby has bone cancer. Incurable. Inoperable. Painful. And that the only choice I had, really, was when (not if) to put her to sleep.
She's not even gone, and I miss her already.
I'm devastated.

((((Marianne))))I'm so sorry. My heart goes out to you, your family and your dear friend. You guys will be in my thoughts and prayers.
Oh, I'm so sorry. You know we went through this with Toby this year and just this weekend the kids were talking about how much they still miss him.
Know you're in my thoughts.
*hugs* I'm so sorry. I wish I could wave a magic wand and make her better.
I had this decision last year with one of my kitties. I still miss her and think of her often. I will be praying for you and your family.
Oh Marianne, I'm so sorry to hear about your beloved dog having bone cancer.
Been there, done that.
Our Emily Sue had colon cancer. I cried at the vet's when we said good-bye to her, then pulled myself together and went to the bank. The teller said, "Hello!" and I started sobbing hysterically and then she started crying because she'd lost her dog just the week before. Yup, we had us a big ole sob fest at the bank.
I know just how you feel.
(((((Marianne)))))
I'll be praying for you and the fam.
Sigh. She's a beautiful dog!
Oh I'm so sorry. Of course your heart hurts, and it will for a while. I lost my beloved Devlin a little over a year ago, and at times I still get a twang. Just know that you loved her as much as you could. (((hugs)))
I'm so sorry to hear this news. Bailey is a beautiful dog, and I know from the wonderful posts you've written how much she has meant in your life. Many hugs.
{{{{{Marianne}}}}}} I'm so sorry.
I'll say prayer for you and your family.
Know that I love you and I'm here if and when you want to talk about it. Many prayers from both Bob and me for you, the family and Bailey.
I'm so, so sorry, Marianne. I hope that things go as easily as possible for you and for him.
Oh, I am so, so sorry. The depth of grief we feel when we lose (or are about to lose) a dear pet is bottomless. My heart goes out to you.
I love this Christmas photo. It's beautiful, and makes me smile even though my heart breaks for you. I am so very sorry to hear this news.
I'm so sorry. I've had pets die suddenly (just recently, in fact) and have had pets I've had to put to sleep, and there is just no easy whichever way it happens. My heart just breaks for you. Hugs.
I'm very sorry, Marianne. Hugs and prayers.
HUGS HUGS HUGS!!!!
