And Thus Begins Another Week...

I have a "carpe diem" mug and, truthfully, at six in the morning the words do not make me want to seize the day. They make me want to slap a dead poet. ~Joanne Sherman

I used that quote, just because I thought it was funny...

As I typed my title, I got to thinking about those calendars they've started making -- yanno, the ones that start with Monday as the first box? Do you hate those? I do... Despite the fact that we all pretty much consider Monday as the beginning of the week, Sunday has always been the first day. I get thoroughly confused with those stupid things. May the fleas of a thousand camels infest the armpits of their makers.

Everyone sounded so... doubtful... about my participating in NaNoWriMo this year. Well, except for Allie, who will be watching me like I'm a car wreck! LOL... I have a lot to clear off my plate by then, and if the old plate isn't at least partly cleared, it won't happen. And that makes me so sad. But... that's the goal I'm working toward! Fingers crossed.

I got my first round of edits on my story "A Change of Heart" -- my mid-length secret-baby-cowboy story. They're TOUGH. I only got through a couple pages yesterday. I'm going to be sweating up a storm by the end of this. The editor is working me hard! These edits are one of the things I need to get cleared off, though, so I'll be doing my best to get through them soon.

If it's a new week, then that means there are new contests at The Long and the Short of It. This week there are two prizes: a FREE eBook AND a FREE autographed book -- there's even a sneaky alternate way to enter to win that -- but you have to go here to find out how. Go forth and enter!

Well? What are you waiting for? And, hey, feel free to spread the word. You must all know a few people interested in winning books, right?

=============================

You Are a Pegasus

You are a perfectionist, with an eye for beauty.
You know how to live a good life - and you rarely deviate from your good taste.
While you aren't outgoing, you have excellent social skills.
People both admire you - and feel very comfortable around you.

Well... okay.... Most of this is pretty darn close. And, even better, I lurve Pegasus.

You?

I'm a Centaur. Well, at least that's part horse.

I really hope you do Nanowrimo this year, especially if I end up doing it. You're very motivating!

Good luck on the edits. I got up at 4:30am to get into mine because this afternoon will be hectic.

Now off to LASR to check out the contests.

Love that quote!!!

I got:

You Are a Centaur
In general, you are a very cautious and reserved person.
However, you are also warm hearted, and you enjoy helping others in practical ways.
You are a great teacher, and you are really good at helping people get their lives in order.
You are very intuitive, and you go with your gut. You make good decisions easily.

I'm not all sure about that. Especially that Great Teacher bit. *g*

Hey, I'm a Pegasus, too! And I hate those calendars that start the week with Monday.

Good luck with those edits!

Hmm, I'm a Mermaid. Um, no I don't like to swim anywhere I can't see the bottom or where little creatures are swimming with me.

I have no doubt you'll do well with NaNoWrMo.

Have a good day!
