When I work I relax; doing nothing or entertaining visitors makes me tired. ~Pablo Picasso
Why is Labor Day called Labor Day? And why is it celebrated? And when was the first one celebrated? Want to know those answers and more? Click here!
1. If you mixed up the letters in the name of your blog, what new name would you come up with? (Anagram fun website - http://wordsmith.org/anagram/) Now take your favorite anagram and tell us what sort of blog it might be based on that title.
There were so very many to choose from, but this was my fave:
Snakier Rain Man
Can you imagine??? LOL... I'm picturing Dustin Hoffman with a long forked tongue. *G*
And a blog? The possibilities are endless. Useless information. Your slimy math problems solved. Okay. Stopping now...
2. What three sounds do you love? Okay, now tell us WHY you love these sounds.
I love to listen to the birds singing the sun up and down. Just at dawn and dusk, and only in the summer, the skies and woods are full of sound. It's just amazing.
I love the memory I have of my DD as an infant, waking up singing to herself. I used to just lie in bed and listen to the monitor every morning for five or ten minutes and just hear her coo and hum. Yanno, if they made alarm clocks with that sound available, I think everyone would wake up in a much better mood.
And I'm pretty fond of the words: "Don't worry yourself, I'll cook dinner."
3. What is it about you that makes everyone want to know you? Wait, you’re not done yet. Now tell us WHY that one particular thing? What makes that element of yourself so special? (Come on, don’t be shy. This is your opportunity to write about something positive about yourself).
Okay, since I couldn't decide between my stellar wit, earthstopping beauty and genius IQ (not to mention my deep, abiding humility), I asked Judy what her answer would be to this question for me.
She said I'm fun.
So... there you have it. Stellar wit wins!
4. What is the oldest thing you own? What is the newest?
The oldest thing I own is a desk that was a wedding gift to my great-grandma (right, Mom?). My grandma gave it to my mom who gave it to me to give to my DD.
The newest thing I own is a pair of plastic gloves that I use when washing dishes. I bought them yesterday. Yellow. Size medium.
*G*

DH is home today. He has a laundry list of chores. This means... I won't get anything done except house/garden chores. Sadly, today is the day I have set aside for writing.
Ah well. Tomorrow is another day.

Hey, check out contortionist dog (don't you wish YOU were this flexible?):

I too picked birds singing as among my favourite sounds :) Love that pic of your dog! Have a great week ahead :)
Holy cow! How many vertebrae does she have in her spine. LOL!
Too cute.
Okay, first of all, I am cracking up at the picture of the dog. LOL! Apparently you do have stellar wit!! :-)
Also, I too would be fond of the words, "Don't worry yourself, I'll cook dinner." Sadly nobody says those to me. Darn it!
LOL at the pic!
Hope you have a great day. My hubby is off all week so I'm hoping to finish my proposal!!!!
Wow! My back hurts just looking at Dakota!
My favorite anagram for my site:
Hold Any Old Owl
Not sure what it would be about, though. Owls, presumably. *g*
Man, I wish I had any flexibility at all!
Can't do too much with my blog name. *G* Aww, that's a sweet memory to have of your Daughter. Dakota looks comfy like that!
Enjoy your day!
Wow.. Doggie yoga! :) Happy Labor Day! :)
I think you're FUN too!
Many of the anagrams for Groovy's Ruminations include the word "virgin" or "mooning"...
I may have to do that meme later, after my cake series.
