Rain, YAY!

Let the rain kiss you. Let the rain beat upon your head with silver liquid drops. Let the rain sing you a lullaby. ~Langston Hughes

I can't believe I'm so happy it's raining ... normally I'm more a "boo-hiss" person when it comes to anything wet falling from the sky, but it's been SO hot here and so dry and everything was dying unless I watered, sometimes twice a day. Even my drought-resistant, full sun plants (like my lambs ear... that I always just want to sit and pet) was wilty.

So let's hear it for rain! Plus it means I don't have to haul water -- because there is no hose to my veggie garden. So, I have to use two big watering cans, over and over and over....

====================

Things are VERY quiet in Pillar Place, though I'm betting Alpha will chose today to hatch, just to be ornery (since it's raining and we can't release him). Our last pillar, Epsilon, went on walkabout yesterday and is now hanging upside down on a stick awaiting her transformation.

So far we haven't found any more swallowtail babies, which I find amazing. From here on out, though, any babies we find would be overwinterers and I'm not sure I want to deal with that (though DD will probably file an appeal and win, cuz I'm a sucker).

Check this out... it's SO COOL. If I ever get a rat again, I'm training him.

You Crave Money

Some may say it's materialistic to crave money, but for you, money represents freedom.

You do have a taste for the finer things in life, and you'd also like the option being able to do what you love for work.

You don't chase money at every opportunity, but it certainly factors into your decisions.

You have some pretty ambitious financial goals, and it's likely you'll achieve them.

Actually.... that's pretty much correct. Especially the "money represents freedom" thing -- DH and I want to move in the worst way, and can't because there is no work for him where we want to live. If he could move back into the blue collar sector and we could still survive, we'd be set. And I could start an animal shelter. He could fish and boat to his hearts content. I could have a greenhouse. He could have a 1985 Toyota 4X4 like the truck at the end of "Back to the Future" to restore. Just gotta win the lottery, or become a NYT bestselling author. Or, yanno... BOTH. *G*

The hamster agility video is AMAZING! I definitely need to take our rodent experience a step up!

Groovy, That same person has a "how to teach your hamster to do agility" video... do a search on YouTube. It's so neat! Give the girlies something to do this summer :-)

That was a cute video.

You Crave Love

You don't feel like life is really worth living if you don't have anyone to love.

You know that in the end, relationships are what matter most - and you put love first.

Even if you've already found your true love, you're looking for more people to care for.

You never like your life to be too quiet. You prefer it to be filled with friends, conversation, and laughter.
it's half accurate.

What happened to your hose? You used to have one.

Money does mean freedom. And you'll get there.

Ironically that quiz said I craved adventure. LOL.

I thought I was past that.

It rained in both cities on either side of us yesterday but skipped our town totally. I wish it would rain here. It's only been a few weeks (or so it seems) since you've been sheltering the soon to be butterflies. How long does their season last?
My results to the quiz were the same as yours. And was pretty correct. I'd like to not have to worry about purchasing the kids curriculum. Breathing room, you know?

I hope you have a good day!

Living in Arizona I only see rain, like, three days out of the year. But when it rains, it gushes.

Brandy, our seasons for everything up here are short! For swallowtails, the first round is for this year -- those we hatch now will lay eggs, and their babies will overwinter as pupae to hatch next spring to lay eggs for the first round of 2011. Swallowtail butterflies have a short life span -- only a couple of weeks or so.

Monarchs migrate, so we'll have them from July through Sept/Oct (depending on when our first frost is) and those we hatch will fly to Mexico. Monarchs have a life span of about nine months and the eggs we get this year will be laid by the children of the butterflies we raised last year. Grand(butter)babies!

RE: I'd like to not have to worry about purchasing the kids curriculum.

-- no kidding. Between curriculum and extracurricular stuff like sports, art lessons, etc, I'm surprised we can afford food to eat! LOL...

Liz, New England is usually terrifically moist, but it's be crazy this year -- just dust dry.

I realized that "dust dry" for New Hampshire is probably significantly different than "dust dry" in Arizona, however! LOL...

Thanks for visiting.

Maria, I always knew you had an adventurous spirit. Hey -- you're the only person I know who's been stung by a scorpion!

We desperately need rain here.

We've had plenty of rain in Ohio. Sorry you have to haul water to your garden but glad it rained so you get a break now.
