"The secret to getting ahead is getting started. The secret of getting started is breaking your complex, overwhelming tasks into small manageable tasks, and then starting on the first one." — Mark Twain

A friend sent me an email with old advertisements that are tough to believe. I just have to share a couple...

Having trouble dieting? Have we got the solution for you!!! Eat anything you want and don't gain any weight!!

And people say we go to extremes in the name of weight loss now... sheesh...that one really gives me the willies.

You know what? Never mind skinny... get HAPPY like this family!

Did you even know there used to be a Lard Council? Can you imagine having that on your business card?

===========================

No... I didn't get any writing done yesterday. Instead, I spent more than THREE HOURS looking for reasonably priced music for the trailer I'm having made for "One Love For Liv". Yes, really. Three. Hours.

Gah.

Your Stress Level is: 59%

You are somewhat prone to stress, especially when life gets hard.
When things are good, you resist stressing over little problems.
But when things are difficult, you tend to freak out and find it hard to calm down.

I don't think I freak out when things are hard. Judy? What think you?

I wonder how much money a lard salesman could make. And tape worms? Yikes! those were funny but frightening.

No writing done for me yesterday either. Today, maybe.

Great interview, btw!!!

Ok, may I just say, EWWWWWW! NASTY! (For the first ad.) And the 2nd, um, LARD? YOu do realize here in the South that is still used, right? (Not by me!)
Good luck finding the music you want at a good price.
Should I be worried? My stress level was 61%. "You are prone to stress, and you're probably even pretty stressed right now.
Life's problems seem to pile up on you, and this often makes you feel depressed and burned out.
Learn to take time to relax and enjoy life, even if things are stressful. It's the only wa you'll get through the bad times." Yeah, that's about right.

Have a FABULOUS weekend. *g*

Dear Mr. Tapeworm,

Thank you for helping me keep my lovely girlish figure for so many years, but now I long for happiness and family togetherness, so I'm switching to lard.

*****************

My mom gave me some old women's mags from the early 60's. The sugar counsel had ads touting sugar as a natural diet aid for weight loss. Just eat one teaspoon of sugar 15 minutes before each meal and your appetite will be dulled so that you eat less.

Scouts' honor!

I love old ads! But that tape worm thing is DISGUSTING!!! It makes the lard ad seem quite normal. *g*

I got the same stress level as you which kind of surprised me. I was sure mine would be higher. *g*

Tape worms, huh? Well, I've tried everything else...

LOL!

My stress level is only 32%. Yay!

eeewww to tape worms. My great-grandmother use to cook with lard.

Sorry you spent over 3 hours look for music. Did you come close to any choices?

Your Stress Level is: 37%

You are slightly prone to stress, but generally you keep it under control.
You know how to relax and take things as they come, even when your worlds seems to be falling apart.
Occasionally, you do let yourself get stressed out, but you snap out of it pretty quickly.

Tape worms? Yeeesh....

I wonder if the tape worms eat lard.

I'm sorry.... that's just wrong.

Did you find your music?

And where are you going to find your pictures? I think I'm going to revisit the whole book trailer thing.
