I woke in the middle of the night to the sound of strong winds outside, and my heart nearly stopped. I imagine it'll take me awhile to believe that my electricity is on to stay (until the next storm!).
Watched the Olympic men's hockey gold medal game between Canada and USA. HOLY COW! I watch a lot of hockey, but this was the best game I've ever seen. Both teams were amazing, both deserved the medal, but Canada won. While I really wanted USA to get the gold, it's probably best that Canada did -- the Canadians had made it pretty clear that the men's hockey had best get gold or they were going to be in the doghouse in a huge way. Of all the medals Canada won, the hockey medal was the one that counted.
Even so, I sure wish it had been ANYONE but Crosby who scored the winning goal. *sigh*
Our guys looked so sad when they got the silver medals presented to them. I read on one post on Facebook that said it looked like they were being bad sports because they didn't smile. I responded that they weren't bad sports, just completed deflated. If the medal ceremony had been held a few hours later and not 5 minutes after the game, they would have been perkier.
Regardless, it was a fabulous way to end the Olympics. And, did you see? USA won 37 total medals -- WOW!! GO USA!!!
What was your favorite moment in the Olympics?

Did you see the closing ceremony? The USA goalie was smiling then. How could they not be disappointed after playing so hard.
I'll have to think on my fave moment. There were quite a few. I really enjoyed the last couple of weeks of Olympic coverage!
My favorite moment was *watching* the short track speed racing event with Tori.
You Are a Rock Star
Even if you can't play a single instrument, you're a total rebel and creative type.
You couldn't imagine yourself with a corporate job, and you couldn't imagine having a boss.
You are expressive, original, and often times a bit moody. You are very real about who you are and what you're feeling.
You tend to get in trouble a lot. You have a total bad girl or bad boy attitude, and you just always seem to be landing in hot water!
This is so not me.
Well of course they weren't smiling right after they lost. They were disappointed.
Ever since we lost power due to an ice storm years ago I panic every time the forecast calls for ice now.
According the quiz I am a Doctor:
You are a total brainiac who isn't content to just be smart. You want to do something with your smarts!
You'd like to change the world or at least change lives. You feel like it's important not to waste the gifts you've been given.
You may cure cancer or simply make a few people healthier, but you will rest well knowing that you've made a difference.
You're the type of person who does the right thing even when no one else is watching. You're very ethical.
I can't handle gore, so this leave me out. However, I like to think I am very ethical. I truly wish I could make a difference, but I'm ordinary.
I hope you're having a pleasing day!
There were a lot of great Olympics moments but "watching" the short track racing with Dru was loads of fun!

LOL!!! I'm a rock star, baby! *g*
I didn't watch a lot of the games, but I did enjoy the snowboarding. I wish I'd been able to see the figure skating though.
