It rained all day yesterday, and it's still raining this morning. DH did not catch anything yesterday, darn it. Groovy, you and I would work well together. I hate catching fish, but I don't mind eating them!!

Don't know if any of you are horseracing fans, but dear heavens... the Derby broke my heart. I was pulling for Big Brown, just because, but I also wanted Eight Belles (the filly) to win. For those of you who don't watch, Big Brown blew away the rest of the horses to win by more than eight lengths. But Eight Belles? She broke down at the finish with horrific injuries to both front legs and was euthanized on the track. My heart breaks for her and her owners and trainer. And, the jockey must have been devastated.

In lighter news, I told DH he needs to take my DD to the store to buy me something for Mother's Day. I keep telling her I'd rather have a homemade gift, but she doesn't want to make me something. She wants to BUY something. She keeps showing me the flyers for Walmart and Target that come in the mail. She'll go through and find the things in her price range (typically $5 or less) and ask me which ones I like.
Problem is, my mom used to be the one to take DD and do this kind of thing. It doesn't even occur to my DH to do it. So last night, after DD was in bed I said to him, "You need to take DD to the store tomorrow to get me something. Make it a 'secret' and lots of fun for her. I'll pretend I don't know what you're doing."
So, hopefully, they'll have a lot of fun.

Didn't get the bush planted. Thought about doing it in the rain, but it wasn't just wet--it was COLD...in the high 40s. Brrr.... I should have done it last week. Bad me.
DD enjoyed the luxury of playing computer games. I don't let her do it very often... in fact, I can't remember the last time she did. But I loaded up Roller Coaster Tycoon for her and let her have fun. I went to check on her at one point and she was laughing like a loon. I asked what she was doing and... get this... she had built a "drowning pool" and was drowning all her unhappy guests! **snort**
I don't think her park had a very high safety rating.

Didn't even crack open my story for editing yesterday. I spent the entire day working on next week's updates for The Long and the Short of It and putting the monthly newsletter together and sending it out.
