My DD is acting like a teenager ... and she's only eleven. Uh oh. Woke her this morning at 7:00 (which is later than MOST kids have to get up for school) and she fussed and grumbled and complained. Used to be she was a total morning person and popped out of bed like she slept in a toaster. When she was a baby, she woke up singing and I'd lay there and listen to her on the monitor for ten or fifteen minutes because it was such a happy sound.
I'm thinking, "Go away!" isn't such a happy sound.
We didn't start school yesterday as planned because the LASR anniversary party put me behind. So, yesterday I worked on her schooling and set up her schedule so (in theory) we'll finish the first week in June. If nothing happens. :::insert laughter here:::
My LASR biz partner, Judy, is committing to write on her lunch hour at her EDJ and I told her to ping me on IM when she's ready and we'd do it together. It'll help me realize where the day and time is going. Most days, I lose track, look up and it's dinnertime.
In any case, wish me luck with day one of school... we'll see how DD does (besides grumbling).

You Should Learn a Foreign Language |
You would like to turn your world upside down a little, and there's no better way to do that than immersing yourself in a foreign culture. Learning a new language would broaden your perspective and give you an inside look at another area of the world. Getting to know a new language would challenge your brain as well as your expectations about another culture. Your opportunities in life would also be expanded. Imagine where you could travel once you had another language under your belt! |
Does three years of high school French count? *G*

LOL! Whenever Greg does this to me, I send in the dogs as my wake-up patrol. They lick him until he gets up.
Good luck with school today. DD will get better at getting up. It was always this way aftter summer off.
My teenager was the same way yesterday and came down an hour late. Having a teenager is not fun. Mine is "tired" when I want her to do something but not too tired to hang out with her friends. *g*
Hope your first day of schooling goes well!
Good luck with school!!!
You Should Do What You Love
Quitting your job may seem like a scary prospect, but it could be the best thing you ever do.
There's no doubt that working for the man drags you down, and it may be time to do something you love.
You want to expand your mind, and the only way you're going to be able to do that is to take a leap.
Consider a career that's more creative or independent. If you can work how you want, work won't feel like work!
In my dreams!!
Good luck with the teenage thing. It's only just beginning. I have that X 4! But I'm sure your DD will be fine. Good luck to both of you!
