We found two more monarch eggs yesterday -- and we aren't even looking! I found them while getting food for Xi and Pi. I had purchased some new containers at the store, but I'm out AGAIN. We're now up to 22 monarch egg/pillars. Dear heavens.
We're expecting rain today. YAYAYAYAYAYAY!!!!!!!!!
Maria Zannini is having a blogfest -- she's sharing some of her fave blogs (she shared mine yesterday :::blushes:::). If you're looking for aome cool new blogs to visit, you should check it out.
That's it from my neck of the woods, except for this video I feel I have to share. I love the meaning in it -- whenever you think your load is heavy, remember it could be so much worse.
This Ain't Nothin' by Craig Morgan ... my new fave song:
Have a great weekend!!

You Are a Realist |
You are a down to earth person, but you know how to have your fun. You strike a good balance. You see the world clearly, and you're good at anticipating problems. You are very proactive. You are sophisticated and classy. You don't try to grab attention, but you always get plenty of it anyway. You are rich in personality, spirit, and probably even wealthy. You never flaunt your advantages. |
First part, absolutley. Second? HAHAHAHAHAHA... no.

My quiz was pretty much dead on:
You Are a Traditionalist
You aren't impressed by anything that's too modern. You go for whatever is classic.
Some may call you a bit old school, but you know that old school eventually becomes new school!
You are naturally sweet and fun. It's hard for you to get too down.
You have a colorful take on life. People who know you appreciate your vibrancy.
How exciting to have so many maonarchs! The farm I am working at has fields and FIELDS of milkweed. They're in flower right now. When they go to seed I am going to steal many pods and do my planting out back. I have loads of wild-ish perennial and annual flowers to sow with them. Hopefully my "wild" garden will be pretty and productive so we can join you in caterpillardom next year.
You Are a Pacifist
You seek peace in all aspects of your life. You get stressed out easily and have to avoid noise of all sorts.
You are happiest when things are quiet, calm, and mellow. What other people find boring you find enriching.
You are naturally sweet and fun. It's hard for you to get too down.
You have a colorful take on life. People who know you appreciate your vibrancy.
This is accurate.
I love that song! Greg introduced it to me a couple of weeks ago. It says it all--at least about us.
PS. Thanks for the mention. Two more days of blog shout outs, then the winner on Monday.
First I listen to the song, and with tears in my eyes I read, Have a nice day.
Love the song! Gives you something to think about.
Have a great, soaking wet day!
Marianne, herewith dub you the Monarch Queen!
Thanks for sharing the video. It made me teary.
I'm in CT, and it's raining here today too, finally. The heat has been something else this summer! But my tomato plants love it. I clicked over from Maria's, enjoyed browsing ...
You're having a busy Monarch season! And bless you for it. I always learn something new when you post about all the butterfly babies.
You Are A Modernist
You're always living in the now, and you love to experience new and exciting things.
You are an energetic, on the go type of person. You don't slow down for anyone!
You are together and quite successful. You know how to excel in every aspect of your life.
People envy your style and grace. They don't see all the hard work behind what you do.
Ha, no. The only thing correct is the energetic part. And that's in fits and starts sometimes. *G*
Wishing and hoping you get the rain you need today!
Have a good day!
You Are an Idealist
You can't help but dream big, and you resent anyone who tries to bring you back down to earth.
You are always optimistic and cheerful. You expect the best, even if things don't turn out as planned.
You are sophisticated and classy. You don't try to grab attention, but you always get plenty of it anyway.
You are rich in personality, spirit, and probably even wealthy. You never flaunt your advantages.
*snicker* Yeah, I am SO sophisticated and classy. LOL!!!
Groovy, milkweed takes a little while to be mature ... but I hope yours grows quickly!! I'd love to see a Groovy Pillar Place next year.
Dru, I love that description of you. It's wonderful :-)
Maria, I saw that video on GAC the other day and balled like a baby. It really puts things into perspective -- loved the end: "This ain't nothin' time can't erase and this ain't nothin' money can't replace."
Perfect.
Hi, Mom! I cried, too!! I do every time.
Ceri, sadly the day wasn't very soaking. I swear, the rain went all around us!
Mary, last year we only raised ONE monarch to maturity, so this year is blowing my mind. I'm so thrilled!
Joanne, my garden has LOVED the heat. Me? Not so much. We got a little rain today, but not very much. I saw that CT got quite a bit! I'm terribly jealous...
Thanks for visiting.
Brandy, I get so much joy (and sometimes heartbreak) from my pillars. I have to admit I considered raising a tomato worm today. Yes, really...
Have a great day!
Tori, that's you and me -- sophisticated and classy *G*
